vauxhall vectra auto transmission oil change?
i have this vauxhall vectra 2.2 ltr petrol year 2002 with a auto transmission gearbox it has lost all drive in all the gears even in manual drive,the transmission oil was drained and replaced with a new lot,while the car was still on axle stands under the sub frame and the wheels still touching the ground,when the engine was started all drives was back in all the gears,so turned off the engine and took out the axle stands for the car to drive when restarted the engine it was back to no drive in all the gears,The other odd thing is that in the book its supposed to hold 3 to 3.5 litres of oil when filled to the cold mark on the dipstick but oddly it hold 5 litres,there is no water in the oil nor in the engine oil and cooling system and the oil has not dropped from dipstick cold mark nor any leaks exterior of casings,hope someone can help
the car was on level ground when checking dipstick level
Was the car at an angle when you checked the oil? Too much oil is as bad as not enough. Try putting in the correct amount,failing that, it doesn`t look good for your gearbox.
