Items To Carry In Car Tool Kit
Jack and wheel brace
Jack and wheel brace are a must in your car. Most cars come with these. When you get a flat tyre while on a drive, the jack and wheel brace are probably the ones to help you out. The jack can also be used if you need to push out a dented panel following a minor accident or you can use it to pull or push something that is stiff.
Engine Oil and Lubricants: Another most important thing in your car tool kit is a bottle of engine oil and lubricants. Running out of oil will cause the engine to seize up. Engine oil can provide maximum protection by reducing frictional wear and heat and also can remove clogs and keep the engine running smoothly without any blockage. You can also use the engine oil to help lubricate seized nuts and screws.
Screwdrivers: A cross head screwdriver and a flat screwdriver will save you from trouble in case of a break down. But look to it that the screwdriver you carry fit into most of the screws in the car and is of good quality.
Electrical Wire and Ropes: Electrical wire and ropes will help you to repair a broken alternator belt or tie on a loose component of the body panel. Furthermore, if there is some electrical problems in the car, you can also use the wire to carry the voltage needed to or from the battery. A good sturdy piece of rope can be doubled up as a tow rope and can replace a broken alternator belt.
A Swiss Army Knife: A Swiss Army knife is another helpful addition to a tool kit, especially if it has a saw as well as a few good sharp blades attached to it.
Metallic Tape: Metallic tapeis good for fixing exhausts temporary in case of a break down. A double wrap over a hole in the exhaust pipe can enable you to get to a secured place without filling the car with dangerous exhaust fumes. Metallic tape can also be used for sealing leaking water hoses and air hoses
Clear Plastic Sheet and Old Newspapers: Clear plastic sheet can help repair a broken window while away on drives till you can go the nearest garage for repair. Newspapers can help you clean the grease and other lubricants.
Small Torch: If your car gives out at less light and at dark, the small torch will help you see better and identify the problem. It can be of great help to highlight leaks of water, oil and exhaust gases easily.
Anti-freezers and Coolants: Anti-freezers and Coolants are used to maintain the engine’s temperature throughout its operating range. They can increase the car cooling system capacity to help prevent overheating and loss of coolant. Remember, next time you take long drives, anti-freezers and coolants are a must to carry.

What would be the best travel tool kit composition?
I'm going cross country in my Jeep, and would like to put together the most necessary tools to put into my spare tire compartment for emergencies...what would the best assembly of tools be to fit inside this small space...just list the most important tools for me that I may not have thought of..
I have
small adjustable crescent wrench
assorted socket set
screwdrivers
jumper cables
Awesome... if you have an older jeep with a distributor I wud take an extra cap and rotor button, if it's a newer jeep get some electrical contact cleaner. If you have an automatic take some trans fluid. I would check all ur belts before you go and grease all you bearing and repack your wheel bearings... also have tires balance. Jeeps are famous for cupping tires as you tend to nock them out of balance often. I also recomend getting a garmond handheld GPS so you always know where you are even when ur off road. I have a wrangler, cheeroke, and an old commanche p/u. I love jeeps. You 'll have a blast. BTW if you have a soft top and plan on riding without your shirt... use sunscreen cuz I got a slash mark onetime from the seat belt...
