D-Link DNS-320 ShareCenter 2-Bay Network Storage Enclosure List Price: $149.99 Sale Price: $98.88 |
|
D-Link’s DNS-320 ShareCenter 2-Bay Network Storage device is the cost-effective way to store and share documents, music, videos, and photos with anyone on your network. The DNS-320 allows you to insert your own disk drives and can support up to 4TB of storage capacity. Equipped with four different hard drive modes, Jumbo Frames support, Gigabit connectivity, a variety of built-in servers like a USB Print server, Peer-to-Peer downloader, UPnP AV media servers, FTP and Web File server, and an easy to use management interface, the DNS-320, is an affordable and reliable storage solution perfect for any home network. With shared storage serving as an essential element in today's digital home, the D-Link ShareCenter DNS-320 2-bay network-attached storage (NAS) device enables you to easily share documents, files, and digital media with everyone on your home network. The expandable DNS-320 allows you to add up to two 2 TB SATA drives (for 4 TB of total storage*), offering plenty of space to store tons of digital photos, thousands of hours of digital music, or hundreds of DVD-quality movies. And adding a drive is a breeze with the D-Link tool-less design. The front of the DNS-320 with USB port (see larger image). The rear of the DNS-320 with Ethernet port (see larger image). Whether streaming movies, sharing files, or storing video from a network camera, D-Link ShareCenter storage solutions are designed to let you work, play, and share from any room in the home or from a remote location over the Internet. A complementary piece to D-Link's digital home solutions, you can utilize ShareCenter products for a number of applications--whether it's connecting directly to the wireless router, storing video from mydlink-enabled IP cameras, or streaming video to your TV using the Boxee Box by D-Link. Using the USB port in the DNS-320, you can share a single printer among all of the computers in a household over the network. Additionally, you can automatically download content from the web without powering on a PC with the integrated Peer-to-Peer Downloader or access files at top speeds without bottlenecking with the Gigabit Ethernet port. The DNS-320 includes its own internal 800 MHz processor, a simplified interface, and software for finding and managing files. Its rugged, compact design makes for easy desktop placement. And it includes both AFP and Time Machine support for Mac users. The DNS-325 model includes a faster internal processor plus support for specialized server apps. See a comparison of the two ShareCenter devices. Key Features RAID technology to protect your data in the event of a hard drive failure Capable of streaming audio and video to compatible UPnP-enabled devices Gigabit Ethernet port for ultra-fast wired connectivity Built-in Peer-to-Peer (P2P) downloader for downloading digital media from share sites without having to power on or connect your PC DLNA certified for wireless media streaming to other compatible devices Up to 4 TB of storage from two SATA hard drives (2 TB apiece; hard drives not included) Stream movies from your ShareCenter to your TV using the Boxee Box or other compatible media player such as PlayStation 3 or Microsoft XBox 360 USB Print Server enables you to share a printer with the entire family Set permissions and quotas Create a fail-safe protection solution from accidental data loss on your PC Automatically back up your data with the included backup software, plus set schedules and rules with incremental backups Apple Time Machine support (for Mac Users) Remote backup application supports backup to a storage device at a second site to protect data in the event of a catastrophe Built-in Web File server and FTP server allow users to easily access important documents remotely, over the Internet 3-year limited warranty B.Y.O.D. (Bring Your Own Drives) One of the best things about this ShareCenter device is that it comes without built-in hard drives. That means added flexibility and reduced strain on your wallet. Rather than being handed any old hard drive, you're free to hand pick the one that is the best fit for you. Choose the size. Choose the brand. Search for the best deal. Buy one. Buy two. The DNS-320 has two bays that can hold two SATA hard drives with up to a total of 4 TB of storage (2 TB per hard drive). Back It Up Keeping all of your important files on your computer without backing them up is like owning a house and not insuring it. It's important to back up your files so if the unexpected happens, you still have a backup in place. When used with two hard drives, this 2-bay ShareCenter device allows you to back up files in full or incremental backups and comes with four different hard drive modes so you can best configure it to your needs. Standard mode creates two separately accessible hard drives JBOD (Just a Bunch of Drives) combines both hard drives in linear fashion for maximum space efficiency RAID 0 provides faster speeds by combining both drives in a striped configuration, which means data is distributed across both drives in the enclosure. RAID 1** causes the drives to mirror each other, providing maximum protection. If one drive fails while configured as RAID 1, the unaffected drive continues to function like a single drive until the failed one is replaced. When a new drive is inserted, it's restored--returning full protection to both drives. In addition to content back-up and RAID support for data protection, the DNS-320 also features remote access to files through a built-in web file server app and FTP server. With the included remote backup application, you can easily backup content to a second storage device at another location to protect against data loss in the event of a catastrophe. The Power of Gigabit This ShareCenter device comes with a 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet port, giving you blazing fast speeds so you can back up and access your stuff without the wait. D-Link Green While this may look like your average storage enclosure, it's not. This is a D-Link Green storage enclosure, which means it's as good for your wallet as it is for the environment. This product: Features a fan that only comes on when hard drives need cooling Allows hard drives to enter sleep mode when not in use to conserve electricity and prolong the life of the hard disk Complies with the European Union's RoHS directive that restricts the use of certain hazardous materials Uses recyclable packaging to help reduce waste that goes into the environment What's in the Box ShareCenter 2-bay network storage device, power adapter, Ethernet cable, quick installation guide, CD-ROM How Do I Insert Drives Into My ShareCenter Device? * Hard drive(s) not included. An internal SATA drive is required to store or share your files; drive must be formatted before use. ** RAID 1 mirroring requires the use of two (2) internal SATA drives. To avoid data incompatibility in RAID 1 operation, use SATA drives from the same manufacturer. Formatted drive capacity for RAID 1 operation is dependent on the drive capacity of the lowest-sized drive. May not work with older generation SATA drives. |

The purpose of this blog page is to specifically highlight the important parts of the storage process. We are making this information available to citizens so that they can be fully informed as to what the storage process entails. We realize moving companies do not make this information readily accessible, and we hope knowing this makes your decision easier. With that having been said, lets move on to storage.
This ezine article will cover the three following areas of the storage process. We will first detail how to properly prepare your various goods for storage. We will then cover the difference between short term and longer storage, as well as the difference this can have on the rate you pay. We will then finish the post by detailing what you should be on the lookout for in a storage facility. From making sure the facility is equipped properly, to ensuring it is secure, this part is undoubtedly one of the most crucial.
Your household goods must first be prepared for moving and storage before they can be relocated into your storage unit. Upholstered furniture must be properly covered in plastic. This helps to prevent any liquids or sunlight from touching the fabric and will prevent any discoloration during the moving and storage process. Furthermore, wooden furniture cannot be wrapped in plastic material since this can cause staining from the wood breathing. Instead, all your wooden furniture should be carefully pad wrapped. The furniture pads will prevent any unwanted nicks, marks or scratches. The remainder of your household goods should be moved into boxes. Boxes can be stacked upon one another without damaging the contents, and boxes better let you organize and keep track of your various goods. If you are bringing your own goods into storage make sure you employ the above tips. Alternatively, if you have chosen a moving and storage company to relocate your goods, then you should ask what process takes place so that your household goods will be properly cared for.
How long you intend upon staying in storage makes a difference in the process. In industry jargon, anything longer than six months is called non-temporary storage, and anything less is referred to as storage-in-transit (SIT). In general and on average, the lengthier your stay the lower your storage rate will be. Additionally, some moving companies might be willing to waive the pick up and delivery fees if you are willing to stay long enough. Other companies will waive the first month of storage. You should always ask the moving and storage company what sort of specials they run for longer term storage. However, regardless of whether you are storing for short or long term, your goods should still be properly taken care of, as was described above, and you still need a high quality storage facility, as we shall describe below.
Lastly, we have arrived at the importance of choosing a secure personal storage facility. Storage facilities are not made equally, and this should be a primary area of focus when choosing between moving and storage companies. One of the most important things for you to ask your potential moving and storage company is whether they have received Department of Defense certification. A company must acquire this certification before the DOD will let its personnel store their household goods with that company. The DOD requires certain metrics to be met in terms of fire prevention, flood prevention, security and financial health. To begin, we will explore the importance of government certification programs. Then we will give you a few questions for you to ask your next moving and storage company.
Department of Defense Certificate: The U.S. DOD requires every single military moving and storage company to pass strict requirements. For example, the moving company is required to have been in business for over five years, and must have secure financial statements. This will prevent you from having to worry about removing your goods from a bankrupt companies warehouse. Furthermore, warehouses must be above the 100 year flood plain, and have proper fire sprinklers and other anti-fire safety measures installed. This ensures your household goods will never be damaged by floods or fires. To end, all storage warehouses must be secured properly to prevent access by unauthorized individuals. A warehouse meets all the above criteria if they have been certified by the DOD.
When you are speaking with potential moving and storage companies, below some questions you can ask to get a handle on the type of company you are dealing with:
Does your warehouse have AC and a dehumidifier?
Does your facility have access to a backup generator in case of power outages?
Are sprinklers installed throughout the warehouse?
Are you above the flood plain?
For what length of time have you been in business?
Through studying the above information, and asking the correct questions, you can employ a quality moving and storage company. Remember, not every moving company is properly equipped to store your goods for long periods of time. For further information on the moving and storage process please view the authors box below. Have a great storage experience!

Vietnam Cruises - Explore Bhaya Cruises in Halong Bay
Discover the breathtaking scenery of Vietnam’s premier destination aboard a cruise vessel which exudes charm and luxury! The Bhaya is a new boat with an ancient history. A true traveler of his time, the Vietnamese Emperor Khai Dinh (1885-1925) defied the custom of taking thousands of courtiers on a royal trip, and took just twelve of his most trusted followers on a very exceptional trip to Halong Bay.

Luxury Cruising on the Bhaya Cruises in Halong Bay - 2 Nights
His ship was one of the best of the wonderful wooden junks that sailed the waters of Halong. Inspired by the romantic landscape of the limestone karst islands rising in the middle of the waters, Khai Dinh commissioned a poem in praised of the bay’s beauty to be carved on the cliff of Dau Go Cave. The tale of the king’s trip and the hardy ship he had chosen as his water home circulated among the ship builders of Halong. Each succeeding generation of shipbuilders dreamed of duplicating Khai Dinh’s wonderful boat, but nearly 100 years passed before an 80-year-old master shipbuilder, Nguyen Van Hoa, turned the dream into reality. Master Hoa was born into a highly respected family of ship builders in Quang Ninh Province. From early childhood, his father had filled his mind with stories of this magical kingly junk that no one could replicate. At the same time, under the expert tutelage of his father, Hoa developed into one of the most gifted ship designers of his generation. Night after sleepless night, he studied ancient drawings and scripts describing Vietnamese wooden junks. During the day he devised blueprints for all types of junks that could sail across all sorts of ocean waters.
Still, Hoa’s life seemed incomplete. He was always searching for a dream junk – the boat that would set his work apart from those of the other shipbuilders of his time. One day, among the thousands of ancient sketches and drawings, he discovered a fragment of the lost drawing of Khai Dinh’s matchless junk. Working slowly and carefully, he managed to restore the drawing to its original state. At last, the incomparable boat that had transported Khai Dinh and his courtiers lived again on paper. Now, all that was left was to find the support to build the vessel and, once again, bring the ship to life in reality.
In January of 2005, a chance meeting took place in Halong among Antoine Bertrand, a gifted young French architect from Montpellier, his colleague, Anne Drousie, who wanted to build a luxury boat in the style of the ancient Vietnamese junks, and Master Hoa. At last, more than 125 years after Khai Dinh had set sail, all of the ingredients were in place to finally recreate this magnificent boat.
Fiercely determined, French architects and Vietnamese master shipbuilders toiled for two long years in the heat of the shipyard. Finally, in July of 2007, the Bhaya was launched – a perfect blend of the experience and talent of the ancient master and the youthful creativity of the Frenchman and his friend.
The embodiment of an ancient Halong dream, the Bhaya is a flawless combination of traditional eastern delicacy and western luxury and comfort. Sailing in the midst of the wonder and natural beauty that distinguishes Halong Bay, the Bhaya will play a considerable role in the embellishment and protection of this glorious World Heritage Site!

Should the Tampa Bay Buccaneers get the creamsiscle uniforms out of storage? ?
Who is Raheem Morris? A 32 year old DB coach? When I heard Bruce Allan was fired along side of Gruden, I truly believed that Tampa would go after Bill Cowher. The move would have made sense. Cowher has stated multiple times that he wants a piece of management if he's going to coach again. Then I heard Raheem Morris. Raheem Morris??? These are the Glazers. These are the same guys who own Manchester United. This is the equivalent to the Ritz Carlton using Able-Body staffing for their employment needs.
Malcolm, if your reading this, I know times are tough, we've all had to tighten our belts. But couldn't we have done just a little bit better than a 32 yo DB coach? Shame on you.
Every great coach started out as a young unknown. Morris has done great work as a defensive coach. Give the guy a chance to succeed or fail and then you can make a judgement.
