As it embarks on a new century of fine china design, Royal Albert honors the artistic achievements of the one it has so faithfully chronicled with this stunning 100 Years of Royal Albert tribute collection. Employing classic shapes and delicate floral motifs, the 10-part series, which includes teaware, figurines, and brooches, recalls major British historical events and style trends from each decade of the 21st century. Inspiration for the series came from previous Royal Albert designs and its archive pattern books. This 10-piece teacup and saucer set includes the patterns from 1900 to 1940. Crafted of bone china with lustrous 22-karat gold trim, the five pairs all share the same shape for a highly coordinated look at the table while showcasing the special beauty of each decade's design. For instance, set the dark, ornate 1910 Duchess next to the simple, fresh 1930 Polka Rose for an unexpected combination that delights the senses. Royal Albert's signature roses provide a common theme that ties the styles together. Each piece has a commemorative backstamp, and the set comes packaged in a presentation-style pink and burgundy hatbox with illustrations of all the patterns. The china is dishwasher-safe and carries a two-year warranty. --Kara Karll
Royal Doulton announces the international launch of the 100 Years of Royal Albert collection, celebrating a century of English craftsmanship through ten patterns representing design trends of each decade of the 20th century. Royal Albert's success dates back to the late 1800's, and the new collection celebrates the brand's vitality, longevity and rich design history. The collection features all bone china with 22 karat gold accents on teacups, saucers, plates, mugs, teapots, creamers, sugar bowls and figurines. Every pattern included in the collection captures the true historical design statements and trends of each time period.

Along with Fantasia and Fantasia 2000, the anthology set contains a third disc that examines a segment of both movies in detail. Each segment has an introduction that has experts (including Leonard Maltin), producer Roy E. Disney, or the animators setting up the piece's history. Notes on the music and dozens of design photos are included on all the segments, although others offer more intriguing features. Abandoned animation is shown on many segments, as are a few behind-the-scenes shorts; the most intriguing are experts from Walt Disney's hosted documentaries on how his company made movies. As for the photos, they are awkwardly catalogued and only the most patient of viewers would want to look at all of them. In some segments, though, these images are entertainingly produced as a "story reel," presenting these images--rough animation, sketches, pastel paintings--with the musical accompaniment. For those looking for a more well-rounded view of the films, the two one-hour documentaries on each film's disc lay the groundwork, but none of the anthology looks at how the first film was seen through the years or gives time to anyone who wasn't gung-ho about every element of the films. There is hardly a mention of embarrassing stereotypes that were matted (and still are) out of the "Pastoral" segment, or the intriguing aspect of the film as a '60s icon for the ultimate head-trip. Disney does let their guard down to show sequences that were being readied in 1940 for future editions (including a recently restored short scored to "Clair de Lune"). Most tantalizing is a look at how the special effects were done in the original film. The guide is a scrapbook that one of the technicians kept and was discovered only in 1990. Fans can only hope a reproduction will be made available someday. --Doug Thomas

Six hours of monosyllabic John Rambo high jinks, best savored in surround sound (for the bone-rattling explosions) and with your brain on pause (for everything else). Sylvester Stallone's second signature character, after Rocky, a seething ex-Green Beret killing machine, went from Viet-vet victim in the original picture, First Blood, flipping out over the ingratitude of his beloved homeland, to a muscle-bound terminator in Rambo III, mowing down Commies in the deserts of Afghanistan. You should consider bypassing the boxed set in favor of just the middle chapter, Rambo: First Blood Part 2, written by James Cameron and directed by George Pan Cosmotos. It's the most balanced and satisfying of the three films: Rambo is dropped back into 'Nam to rescue some POWs, and the action builds steadily in scale and ferocity. Each fireball seems to be bigger than the last. Of all the recent headbanger action movies, only the first Die Hard offers more bang for the buck. The underrated character actor Richard Crenna (a standout sleazebag in Body Heat), as Rambo's military mentor and staunch defender, is the series' secret weapon, providing some welcome human ballast. --David Chute

Enemy at the Gates
List Price: $8.99

Like Saving Private Ryan, Enemy at the Gates opens with a pivotal event of World War II--the German invasion of Stalingrad--re-created in epic scale, as ill-trained Russian soldiers face German attack or punitive execution if they flee from the enemy's advance. Director Jean-Jacques Annaud captures this madness with urgent authenticity, creating a massive context for a more intimate battle waged amid the city's ruins. Embellished from its basis in fact, the story shifts to an intense cat-and-mouse game between a Russian shepherd raised to iconic fame and a German marksman whose skill is unmatched in its lethal precision. Vassily Zaitzev (Jude Law) has been sniping Nazis one bullet at a time, while the German Major Konig (Ed Harris) has been assigned to kill Vassily and spare Hitler from further embarrassment. There's love in war as Vassily connects with a woman soldier (Rachel Weisz), but she is also loved by Danilov (Joseph Fiennes), the Soviet officer who promotes his friend Vassily as Russia's much-needed hero. This romantic rivalry lends marginal interest to the central plot, but it's not enough to make this a classic war film. Instead it's a taut, well-made suspense thriller isolated within an epic battle, and although Annaud and cowriter Alain Godard (drawing from William Craig's book and David L. Robbins's novel The War of the Rats) fail to connect the parallel plots with any lasting impact, the production is never less than impressive. Highly conventional but handled with intelligence and superior craftsmanship, this is warfare as strategic entertainment, without compromising warfare as a manmade hell on Earth. --Jeff Shannon
From Jean-Jacques Annaud ("The Lover") comes an intense true-life war drama set during the Nazi siege of Stalingrad. As a young Soviet soldier and sharpshooter (Jude Law) squares off in the city ruins against his veteran German counterpart (Ed Harris), he also finds himself in the middle of a love triangle with a beautiful soldier (Rachel Weisz) and his journalist friend (Joseph Fiennes). 131 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital Surround, French Dolby Digital Surround; Subtitles: English; featurette; interviews; deleted scenes; theatrical trailer.

The TRUTH About Russian Brides, Breaking Misconceptions
There are a lot of misconceptions about Russian women that need to be cleared:
The one vital question that looms large in the minds of men is that why should Russian women look for husbands abroad? Is it that they want to migrate to the West at any cost by using marriage as a stepping stone?
The answer to both the questions is a big NO. A few issues plaguing the Russian society pushes them to choose Western life partners. There are many reasons for this. Taking a look at Russian men objectively, the statistics reveal that Russian men cannot make good husbands because of their alcohol abuse and poor health conditions. The society and life conditions in Russia push the men towards alcohol addiction.
The second reason is because the number of women in Russia outnumber the men by almost 7%. So, a lot of Russian women are lonely and hardly have a chance to find a life partner in Russia.
Since the major misconceptions about Russian brides have been tackeld, let us move on to see what the basic qualities of Russian brides are.
Russian brides are good-looking, feminine and chic. They rarely get overweight with time. They dress up very carefully and are updated with the latest fashion. Russian women are very modest in their financial and lifestyle expectations for a husband compare to western women. Most Russian singles would much rather have a loving husband and friend than well sponsored life with a stranger.
They are well-educated, intelligent. They have better education and life experience. This is because the Soviet educational system offers quite a few scholarships and encourages women to have advanced degrees. Though the accent in English is different, they can pick up the right accent very easily.
Though they are career-minded they do not compromise on family values. This is because of unique Russian culture that has very strong, old-fashioned values about family and its importance to the woman. Also, because most of Russian live in small apartments with 2-3 generations living together. Thus the family is close knit.
Finally, what a man can expect from a western bride is that she will make a good wife because she is flexible and adaptable to any life style. Many men who have been married to Russian women, report how easy it was for their new wives to overcome a cultural change. Although, men themselves had to make compromises in order to help the transition.
There are a lot of dating and introduction agencies introducing Russian brides to eligible men.

Russian Blue Cat Breed HELP!!!?
I got a russian blue about a year ago and my cousin was telling me that it was a rare cat.
so i go and look up the cat breed i didn't see that is sad rare.so is the russian blue a rare cat?
plus i see that russian blue eyes are green but my russian blue has like yellowish/greenish
i think its mix with another breed.
SO IS A RUSSIAN BLUE A RARE CAT?? PLZ HELP
Pedigreed cats - of all types - make up less than 10% of all the cats in the world. Of those breeds, some are more scarce than others. Russian Blues are an old, established breed, so they aren't a rare breed, but they do make up such a very tiny percent of the world's cat population. Cats like Siberians, Bombays, and Singapuras are certainly more "rare" as the are new breeds. But unless you were given papers for your cat, he's more likely a blue domestic short hair, rather than a Russian Blue especially given his eye color. Very few cats are mixed with a pedigreed cat, so that's not likely - they are all sold with spay/neuter contracts, and not interbred with other breeds. Enjoy him for what he is!
