The Quantum Leap RA provides composers with a variety of rare and unique instruments from Africa, Europe, India, the Americas and Australia, the Far East, and the Middle East and Turkish Empires. EastWest Quantum Leap RA - PLAY Edition provides composers with access to a variety of rare and unique instruments from Africa, Europe, India, the Americas and Australia, the Far East, and the Middle East and Turkish Empires. Musicians will find that RA has an amazing sound quality and they'll marvel at the articulation of each instrument which has a wide range that goes from controlled to expressive. All of the instruments and ensembles featured in the collection were sampled extensively as a means of preserving the true character and expression of each instrument. For the first time with the Quantum Leap RA - PLAY Edition, users will have more control over the sounds offered in the collection along with the ability to load even more instruments than ever before. The Story In ancient Egypt, RA was regarded as the creator of everything, the god of the sun. RA is usually represented with the body of a man and the head of a hawk, holding an ankh & sceptre. The chief location of RA worship was Heliopolis (a Greek word meaning city of the sun). RA is an appropriate name for the largest, and most comprehensive rare and ethnic virtual instrument ever made. RA was born a few years ago, as a sample library called "Rare Instruments." All of the sounds from Rare Instruments are included in RA, but this only represents approximately one-tenth of the content. The other ninety percent of RA was recorded at Ocean Way studios in Hollywood. Because of the size and complexity of the project, I brought in two talented producers, Pacemaker and Tony Austin to co-produce RA with me. They have worked on some other Quantum Leap projects and had some great ideas for RA. We spent time hunting down the best ethnic artists on the West Coast.

Marketing High Technology

Marketing is civilized warfare. And as high-tech products become increasingly standardized -- practically identical, from the customer's point of view -- it is marketing that spells life or death for new devices or entire firms. In a book that is as fascinating as it is pragmatic, William H. Davidow, a legend in Silicon Valley, where he was described as "the driving force behind the micro processor explosion," tells how to fight the marketing battle in the intensely competitive world of high-tech companies -- and win. Blunt, pithy, and knowledgeable, Davidow draws on his successful marketing experience at Intel Corporation to create a complete program for marketing victory. He drives home the basics, such as how to go head-on against the competition; how to "plan products, not devices"; how to give products a "soul"; and how to engineer promotions, market internationally, motivate salespeople, and rally distributors. Above all, he demonstrates the critical importance of servicing and supporting customers. Total customer satisfaction, Davidow makes clear, must be every high-tech marketer's ultimate goal. The only comprehensive marketing strategy book by an insider, Marketing High Technology looks behind the scenes at industry-shaking clashes involving Apple and IBM, Visicorp and Lotus, Texas Instruments and National Semiconductor. He recounts his own involvement in Crush, Intel's innovative marketing offensive against Motorola, to demonstrate, step-by-step, how it became an industry prototype for a winning high-tech campaign. Davidow clearly spells out 16 principles which increase the effectiveness of marketing programs. From examples as diverse as a Rolling Stones concert and a microprocessor chip, he defines a true "product." He analyzes and explains in new ways the strategic importance of distribution as it relates to market sector, pricing, and the pitfalls it entails. He challenges some traditional marketing theory and provides unique and important insights developed from over 20 years in the high-tech field. From an all-encompassing philosophy that great marketing is a crusade requiring total commitment, to a careful study of the cost of attacking a competitor, this book is an essential tool for survival in today's high-risk, fast- changing, and very lucrative high-tech arena.

The WMD Mirage: Iraq's Decade of Deception and America's False Premise for War (Publicaffairs Reports)
List Price: $26.50
Sale Price: $0.01

Features the official report from the bipartisan Commission on the Intelligence Capabilities of the United States Regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction--named by President Bush to try to prevent similar policy debacles in Iran and North Korea. It also includes the official speeches, United Nations reports, and declassified government investigation reports that show, step by step, how the United States got the crucial question of arms in Iraq so terribly wrong. The documents show that: The CIA concluded in 2002 that Iraq had reconstituted its WMD programs, but in fact Saddam had dismantled them; American policymakers consistently assumed the worst case: regardless of his denials, if there was intelligence that Saddam might be making weapons of mass destruction then he had them and was hiding them. UN inspectors, by contrast, assumed that thorough inspection and insistence on complete Iraqi documentation could determine what the truth was; UN inspectors were frustrated by Saddam's refusal to cooperate freely and thwarted by American military impatience just as they thought themselves on the verge of success; American inspectors sent in after the war in 2003 found no weapons of mass destruction and how they--and Washington insiders--began to question the basis of the prewar intelligence. The New York Times editor and contributor to The 9/11 Investigations (PublicAffairs, 2004) Craig R. Whitney has scoured the documents surrounding the search for Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. In The WMD Mirage, he has assembled the most revelatory and pertinent of these. The result is a startling narrative trail that leads readers through the intelligence and misinformation leading into Iraq--and a telling portrait of how the Bush administration, whether deliberately or unintentionally, with scant evidence and largely against the will of the international community, convinced the American people and their few allies of the urgent need for war. A must-read for scholars, voters, and anyone interested in the goings-on in Iraq, the growing threats perceived elsewhere, and the truth behind our frayed international reputation, The WMD Mirage offers the real story of the missing weapons of mass destruction. In offering such a clear-eyed and documented picture of how we got it wrong in Iraq, The WMD Mirage is the first widely-available book that also includes the new conclusions of the Presidential Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission.

Star Trek Star Trek: The Next Generation Star Trek: Voyager Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Classic Issues Include: Star Trek: The Mirror Universe Saga [DC Comics. Series 1. #9-16. a.k.a. New Frontiers] Bearded Spock and the evil Captain Kirk return to the spotlight in an eight-part sequel to "Mirror, Mirror." set directly after Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, in which the Empire sends the alternate James Kirk to lead a fullscale invasion of the Federation's universe. An examination of the Empire's history, a look at the Mirror Kingons and Romulans, and a mindmeld between both Spocks make this the best of DC's line-and the quintessential Star Trek comic of all time. Star Trek: Debt of Honor [DC Comics. Series 2. original graphic novel] A long-held secret of the Kingon Empire is revealed as Commander Kor, James Kirk and a Romulan named T'Cel [Kirk's old flame] join forces to stop a malevolent force from devastating the galaxy. This beautifully illustrated graphic novel, featuring the return of numerous characters from the original Star Trek TV series and films, addresses a question Trek fans were desperate to have answered-long before Star Trek: Enterprise provided an official answer, that is namely how old the Klingons develop those head ridges? Star Trek: Deep Space Nine / The Next Generation [Malibu Comic PC Comics. 4 issue miniseries] Jean-Luc Picard, Benjamin Sisko and the casts of The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine join forces to investigate the disappearance of several officers through the worm-hole, bringing the crews face to face with Bejoran religious fundamentalists and Cardassian saboteurs. Television studio budgets would never have permitted such a full mingling of casts-but in the comics realm, such crossover events are the stuff Star Trek fans' dream of. This miniseries is the only time two comics companies ever collaborated on a single Star Trek storyline. Star Trek: Untold Voyages [Marvel's Paramount Comics, 5-issue miniseries] Following the events of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. James Kirk is assigned to take the new Enterprise on a shakedown cruise-ultimately leading to a second five year mission-in what many have considered to be the best of Marvel's various Star Trek titles. An exploration of Saavik's childhood a visit from Joanna McCoy, the return of Mirl's friend Jahn, a fight with Orion pirates and a meeting with the Grey aliens mark a fascinating period in Trek comics history. Star Trek: The Gorn Crisis [Wildstorm Comics. original graphic novel] Captain Picard visits the Gorn homeworld, hoping to gain their assistance in fighting the Dominion. A splinter group bent on conquest, however, stages a coup and seizes control of the Gorn Empire, then attacks a Federation outpost. Tensions mount when the Klingons come to the Federation's defense, and Picard must work hard to find a peaceful solution to the crisis. Star Trek: Who Killed Captain Kirk? [DC Comics. Series 1. #-4B-55] A brawl-filled bachelor party, the looming threat of intergalactic war, visits from Finnegan and Garth of Izar, an out-of-body experience for a murdered James Kirk, and a descent into Dante's Inferno come together in a single epic storyline. As DC's first series approaches its conclusion, author Peter David offers one of the most character-oriented tales in Star Trek comics history infusing humor, drama and irony and perfectly illustrating why David is one of Star Trek's most celebrated authors. pls suggest me a graphics card Monitor & Video Cards
pls suggest me a graphics card Monitor & Video Cards I have an old PC in which i want to install Graphics card to paly games. My PC configuration is 2.93GHz pc...The graphic card compatibility depends on your mother board. Intel's 915 GL Motherboard have pci P4 Processor, 1,256 GB DDR SD RAM, 915 GL Intel Motherboard. Pls suggegt one graphics card for my express x16 slot. For this slot you can get ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 or 2600 HT, Geforce 8600 GTS, 7950 GT, etc. Also other than this there are many more brands of cards which varies in cost. You can view the price list on the net and determine your need.
If it uses a Pentium 4, then it most likely either has AGP or PCI express 1.0a.
Intel Chipset & AGP: Nvidia 7600 GT, 7900 GS, or the very rare 7950 GT AGP.
ATI Chipset & AGP: X1950 pro, 3850 AGP version (check compatiblity)
Intel Chipset & PCI-Express 1.0a: Nvidia 7600 GT, 7950 GT
ATI Chipset & PCI-Express 1.0a: X1900XT, X1950PRO, X1950XT
Any Chipset & Regular PCI (white slot): you're screwed, its awful
The safest overall bet is an Nvidia 7900 GS. You are going to want to stay away from the newer cards because they are not truly backward compatible with PCI-Express 1.0a, they are only truly backward compatible with 1.1. They might work, but the performance WILL be negatively effected.
1) The Ram on the graphics card had nothing to do with your system RAM.
2)*PCI-Express slots are usually black on OEM systems, and older machines, like yours, there will only be one.
*AGP Slots are usually brown or gray on OEM systems and there will only be
one.
*PCI Slots are normally white, and there will be more than one (probably three).
3) We need to know how many watts your power supply is. Look on the sticker and tell us.
Can you give us your motherboard model number?
Can you take a digital picture of the inside of your computer and upload it to image shack and then post it here?
And you base that on what? He says its an Intel 915GL motherboard, but that is a type of chipset, not a type of board. As you can see on the links below, boards with that chipset could have AGP or PCI-Express slots. Even if he is referring to an actual Intel brand board with that chipset, there were many of them.

why do processors cost so much?
they're freaking $400! And they're value usually decreases $100 per year, so intel and amd are obviously still making a profit off that, let alone when they first come out. what could possibly be in a processor that makes them cost so much? lol is there some rare metal in them or some thing.
Do you mean besides the fact that it takes them 90 days to make each one? Anyway, the amount of time it takes, plus the cost of development, not to mention the cost of each fab (the huge buildings where they make the processors), is where the cost of a processor derives from.
