Used Stack Racks
Stacking rack allow warehouses to better utilize existing space and save enormous amounts of money on the cost of new racking systems. Sometimes the savings can be as high as 60%, depending on the size and type of rack. In addition to savings, used stack racks make operations and time management more efficient by letting companies store products and equipment in contained structures that are stacked one on top of each other in vertical arrangements as much as five units tall. Nesting Stack Racks
Nester racks are a form of used stack racking that is made to protect products, eliminated wasted space, and make it easier and less time consuming to move products within the facility. When fully loaded, used load nesters can be stacked as high as five units deep. Ask a material handling specialist which model and capacity is best suited for a particular line of product or material.
Used Tire Stack Racks
There are several designs for used tire racks. The most popular type is made with perforated decking that lets water drain to the ground. This type of decking is preferred in areas where fire codes mandate that no surface be mounted that could potentially block sprinkler water. When this is not required by fire codes, however, a more cost effective alternative are tire racks with wire mesh decking. This is a good rack to use for used tires or low price point tires. An even more affordable used stack rack for tire storage is the center post design. These units can be placed on pallets and support up to 2,000 pounds when the pallets are stacked 5 high.

They can be accessed with a fork lift or a hoist. These racks can be stacked up to 3 high. Coil racks are made for storing heavy material such as steel coil in safe, consolidated areas to minimize the risk of injury and damage. Coil racks can be moved quickly with forklifts and stacked 5 high when necessary.

I need help understanding basic networking?
What is the difference between a switch, patch panel and a rack?
For an assessment I have to write up how to network several PCs together using above items.
I know the PCs connect to a telecom outlet, which connects to a patch panel which connects to the switch I believe? So where does the rack come in?
The rack is the cabinet that all the equipment may go in.
It is a physical box usually 19” or 23” wide and varies in height. Equipment such as patch panels, switches, routers, servers etc. may mount in these racks.
The Patch panel is just that. It is a passive (requires no additional powering) device used to couple cables from various locations and equipment in a centralized location.
The switch is an active (requires power) device that switches electrical pathways between ports to route data packets from one location to another.
A typical path may be:
Your PC’s Ethernet port > Cat5 cable> Cat 5 wall outlet > Prewired Cat5 cabling in building > server room, rack, patch panel, port, > Cat5 patch cable > Switch> (Switch has several ports):
One Port may go back along a similar path to another computer, or a network printer or to through a firewall and a modem to an ISP to get an Intranet or on the Internet.
