Silly Willy and Silly Jilly dressed in Mary Poppins-meets-the Music Man regalia lead the singing kids through Silly Dillyville in this Kidsongs outing. The 11 tunes include standards like "The Name Game" (the song that rhymes every name with "bo-banna, fe-fi-fo-fanna..."), "Down by the Bay," "Michael Finnegan" and "Purple People Eater." Each song features characters that introduce the songs. So Billy Daffidilly sings about his eccentric mother, Professor Quackenbush describes the one-eyed violet beast (who also makes an appearance), and Farmer Phil shows off his straw-hatted iguana, a hen pulling a cart, and an owl that performs no discernable tricks in "Fiddle-I-Fee." The whole "town" joins in for the "Do the Silly Willy" finale, featuring Willy rapping in his candy-striped jacket. There have been a lot of durable family groups in popular music over the years, but it would be hard to name one that has lasted longer, and succeeded as consistently, as the Bee Gees. Barry Gibb and his younger twin brothers, Robin and Maurice, were making TV and radio appearances in Australia as early as 1960 before returning to their native England and joining the Beatles-led British Invasion, and they're still at it more than 40 years later. All of that is duly chronicled in this two-hour documentary (produced in 2000), along with a great deal more: the personal problems that led to a breakup in the early '70s; the unparalleled success of the Saturday Night Fever era; their occasional missteps and failures (e.g., the abominable Sgt. Pepper movie); the rise and tragic fall of brother Andy; the respect their success finally earned them in the '90s; and so on. The format is pretty standard; interviews, photos, home movies, and concert footage all contribute to a straight, chronological telling of the Bee Gees' tale. But no stone is left unturned, and the Gibb Brothers (not to mention everyone else who's interviewed) have plenty to say. Best of all, there's lots of the Bee Gees' music, including a video of the title track of the 2001 album, after which the film is named. In the end, we're left with the impression the Bee Gees would probably want us to have: that these guys have written, recorded, produced, and performed literally hundreds of great songs. --Sam Graham

As with sex itself, the better parts of HBO's long-running magazine show Real Sex are a matter of personal preference. However, the cable channel's official greatest-hits package, The Best of Real Sex, is an accurate overview of the series' polymorphic interests: loving intimacy, outright orgies, voyeurism, transvestites, computer sex, self-pleasure. The more sensational stuff, such as a story on a Miss Nude World competition or a software company's development of cyberslut "Virtual Valerie," wears thin after a few minutes. But when the accent is on ordinary people with ordinary bodies, The Best of Real Sex is far more compelling. The first feature, for example, concerns a course in helping women of any age experience their first full orgasm through masturbation. Elsewhere, a Maui retreat presents a New Agey curriculum to individuals and partners for deepening their sexual experiences (though much of the footage looks like a carnal free-for-all). Perhaps the most interesting piece focuses on a good-looking guy who spends his lunch hour guiding a peep-show girl through a realization of his fantasies. With a window separating them, these two intelligent folks (we learn through a separate interview that she has various degrees of higher learning) slide into a loose, easy banter that makes one wonder why some men have to go to such extremes to be happy. --Tom Keogh
