Palm Tungsten T5 PalmOne PDA (1035NA) List Price: $349.99 Sale Price: $149.99 |
|
Amazon.com Product Description PalmOne stretches the possibilities with the Tungsten T5, the first handheld from PalmOne to utilize flash memory. In addition to a groundbreaking 256 MB of memory, the sleek, slim Tungsten T5 features a high-resolution 320 x 480-pixel screen, a fast 416 MHz Intel Xscale processor, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, and a Secure Digital memory card expansion slot. And, of course, the Tungsten T5 features PalmOne's suite of information management applications, the ability to edit Word- and Excel-compatible files, and synchronization with Microsoft Outlook (Windows only). See a detailed diagram of the PalmOne Tungsten T5's features Internal Flash Memory Built for today's mobile professional, the Tungsten T5's 256 MB of memory actually provides 215 MB of user-available memory (55 MB for built-in applications and 160 MB of internal flash drive memory). Connect it to your PC or Mac and use it as you would a USB flash memory drive to transfer data and multimedia files from work to home. To access files stored on the handheld, simply select Drive Mode on the handheld and plug the included HotSync cable into a USB port. To add files, just drag and drop them from your PC desktop to the new File Transfer application (installed with Palm Desktop; Windows only). A live desktop window gives you instant access to data and information stored on the handheld's internal drive--without the need for synchronizing the handheld to move files. Multimedia The included RealPlayer for Palm OS enables you to listen to MP3s stored on optional expansion cards via the built-in speaker on the Tungsten T5 or, for stereo sound, on optional stereo headphones or ear buds. The updated Media application lets you view (and show off) transferred photos and videos. Display Unlike the Tungsten T3, which required you to slide the handheld's bottom open to activate the screen's landscape mode, the Tungsten T5's screen offers widescreen viewing at all times. The bright 320 x 480 transreflective TFT color display supports more than 65,000 colors. You can easily switch between portrait and landscape view, as well as open an active input area at the bottom of the screen. Connectivity and Expansion With built-in wireless Bluetooth connectivity, you can synchronize the Tungsten T5 with a Bluetooth-enabled computer from across the room (within a range of 10 meters, or approximately 30 feet). But that's just the start. Using a compatible Bluetooth-enabled phone, you can send and receive e-mail and connect to the Web, send multimedia (MMS) or text (SMS) messages, and even automatically dial any number in your handheld's Contact's application. You can also synchronize data the "old-fashioned" way via the USB connection at the base of the handheld. The Tungsten T5 uses MultiMedia Card and Secure Digital expansion cards, which instantly add software applications, additional memory, large databases, and more without taking up built-in memory space. Operating System and Software Veteran Palm OS handheld users will immediately notice the new Favorites view, which provides easy access to applications, files, and folders. The installed Palm OS 5.4 also introduces the Files application, which enables easy navigation among folders and files. It uses the intuitive and easy-to-learn Graffiti 2 writing software to input data into the handheld (as well as an on-screen keyboard). Windows users can synchronize their calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes with Microsoft Outlook. The Palm OS features the following organizer applications: Contacts: Lets you store several addresses for each contact, and with new fields for more phone numbers, multiple e-mail addresses, instant messenger IDs, and Web sites. Calendar: Use the new Agenda view to see upcoming calendar events, tasks due, and important e-mail, and color-code your events to provide an easy way to reference your calendar in the Agenda, Day, Week, and Month views. Take more notes, or synchronize more details from your desktop, in the larger Memos and Notes fields. Tasks: Use tasks with alarms and repeating tasks to set reminders for important commients. Additional Software The Tungsten T5 includes Documents to Go 7.0, which provides the ability to create and edit Word- and Excel-compatible files and view and carry PowerPoint files (in native format) with no desktop conversion required. The included Software Essentials CD-ROM also contains eReader, Acrobat Reader, Solitaire, and Audible Player for palmOne handhelds (Windows only). What's in the Box This package contains the Tungsten T5 handheld, a built-in rechargeable battery, a carrying case, a USB HotSync cable, a power cable, a stylus, a CD-ROM with Palm Desktop 4.1 software for Windows and Mac (as well as bonus software), and a printed Getting Started guide. Tech Talk: Flash Memory Flash memory, a form of electronic memory, is used for easy and safe information storage. Its low power consumption and light weight make flash memory ideal for mobile devices. In addition, flash memory holds information without a charge or power, just like a memory card saves pictures when not connected to a digital camera. The flash memory in the Tungsten T5 handheld will maintain its data even when power is exhausted. Simply charge the handheld again and the data is there. Tech Talk: Macintosh Users While the Tungsten T5's new File Transfer application is a Windows-only feature, Mac users can simply mount the handheld as an external drive, and then proceed to drag and drop files from the Finder to the handheld. Note, however, that the Tungsten T5's Palm OS environment is unavailable when connected in this mode. With great amount of storage, the Tungsten T5 handheld from palmOne lets you carry more and do more. Word documents. Spreadsheets. PowerPoint presentations. Photos. MP3s. The works. And because it's flash memory, all that information is saved even if the power runs down when you're on the go and don't have time to recharge or synchronize. Better yet, the stunning 320 x 480 color screen lets you see more in both landscape and portrait modes. The real beauty of the Tungsten T5? You can transfer files and even whole folders from your desktop to your handheld, so you have what you need on the road, in a meeting, or when working from home. Even use it like a USB removable drive to work on those files on another computer. Just when you're thinking there couldn't be room for anything more, with built-in Bluetooth wireless technology you can check email and connect to the Internet on the go. All this and the Tungsten T5 still fit right in your pocket. This product comes with Cradle Kit. |

Projector screen is a surface used for projecting images that also usually comes with a supporting structure. The projections are either front projection or rear projection type, with the former being more common. Depending on various other factors, the projectors are also categorized into fixed, portable, electric, and manual. The manual screens are very easy to roll in and out and are also quite affordable, while the electric screen are slightly costlier, but also roll out and retract easily. The fixed screens are usually mounted on a wall and suitable for dedicated home theatre rooms, while the portable projection screens are great for presentations, traveling trainers and other people on the go since they are very easy to set up.
The most common projection are either white or gray with the grey ones designed to boost contrast and capable of better absorbing direct ambient light. However, choosing between the two depends on various factors like the type and contrast of the projector and the amount of light in the room itself.
Another type of projections are the switchable projection screens - they can be switched between clear and opaque and allow you to easily turn a window to a screen where images can be viewed from both sides and from different angles.
One very important characteristic of the projections is their gain - this is the reflection factor of the screen and typically ranges from 0.8 to 2.5 or more. Higher screen gain doesn't necessarily mean better viewing experience since they can have hot spots where the center of the screen is brighter than the sides of the screen, but this is less of a problem with high gain screens that are retro-reflective or curved. When curved projection screen is positioned properly and aligned correctly to the seats, then the whole screen becomes a "hot spot" and the picture brightness is uniform.
The screen geometry is another important factor and refers to the aspect ratio of the screen (the width divided by the height). The most common aspect ratios are 4:3, 16:9, and 1:1. The 1:1 screens are obviously square and typically used with overhead projectors, but can also be suitable for places with limited space. The 16:9 screens should be used with HDTV Video projectors and 4:3 with NTSC Video and Pal Video.

PS2 Swap Magic - Import And Backup PS2 Games Are Just One Swap Magic Away
Playing import games on your Playstation 2 or new Slim PSTwo console was virtually impossible, considering that it required you to install a mod chip into your PS2 machine, something that not everyone is able to do, or is willing to do. A PS2 Mod Chip requires you to solder small wires to some pretty small solder points right on the main board (motherboard) of your PS2 Console. Playing import games was really for the hard core gamer, and the gamers that would be willing to do some internal surgery to their ps2 consoles.
The PS2 Swap Magic changed all of that. With the PS2 Swap Magic there is absolutely no need to solder anything or install any type of chip into your PS2 console. In fact, unlike mod chips for the Playstation 2, with the PS2 Swap Magic you'll be ready to play your import game in just seconds. By using the PS2 Swap Magic and a PS2 Cover, you'll instantly be able to play your import and backup Playstation 2 games without any hassles or fuss.
The PS2 Swap Magic Disc acts as a loader for all of your import and personal backup games. You'll first load up the PS2 Swap Magic disc, and when greeted with the main menu, you will select LOAD PROGRAM and press your X button. At which time, you have to remove and take out the PS2 Swap Magic disc and insert the game disc you wish to load. Unlike a mod chip, where once installed, you just put in the game disc you want to play, the latest import or backup game and power up your PS2 console to start playing. You will have to do what's called a single swap with the PS2 Swap Magic discs. What this means is that you'll simply put in the PS2 Swap Magic Disc first, before your game, and then swap it out after the Swap magic for PS2 has loaded.
While heavy mod chip users consider this annoying, for people like myself, who would prefer not to solder and perform electronics surgery, it's a very small price to pay for being able to play those really cool Japanese and European games. With the newest versions, there are also some added benefits over mod chips, such as loading homebrew applications and software directly from your ps2 memory card. Something that mod chips simply do not allow you to do, unless you buy the high end mod chips like the DMS4, etc... which require even more wires to be soldered.
The features of the PS2 Swap Magic speak for themselves, and clearly indicate that the need for a ps2 mod chip is eliminated completely and there is absolutely no modification required to your ps2 console in order to play your import and backup games with ease.
PS2 Swap Magic - Feature List:
There is no warranty to void
Works with original import games
No modchip for the games to detect
No modification to the internal system
No extra stress on the laser lens
No soldering required - plug and play
Swap Magic 3 CD Version For PS2 CD-R backups Included
Swap Magic DVD Version For PS2 DVD-R backups Included
Multi-Language menu: English, Chinese, Spanish, German, Italian, Korea
Compatable with DVDRips (632mb+ CD-R backups) via TOC Refresh feature*
Includes built-in PAL/NTSC region selector
Games start with the single swap method detailed below
What is important to note is that when you buy the PS2 Swap Magic, you'll actually get 2 individual discs. Don't worry, and don't be confused. One is clearly marked as a CD-Rom disc, which the other Swap Magic disc is the DVD Disc. You'll need both discs, depending on what type of game you are trying to load. The PS2 Swap Magic CD Version is needed for CD based games (yes, some PS2 games - even your personal backup games you may have made) actually fit on a CD-Rom disc, in which case, you will need to use the PS2 Swap Magic CD Disc to load the game. Most games, especially newer ones however require the use of the PS2 Swap Magic DVD Disc. It's really not very hard at all to determine which type of game disc you have, simply because you can look at the disc itself and it should have either the CD-Rom or the DVD logo on the game disc, or blank disc media on which you saved your backup copy.

Is there anyway to get a Ntsc Pstwo working with pal TVs?
Hello,
I have a NTSC PsTwo(the slim one) modchipped when bought and a Pal television .I have used many kinds of ntsc - pal converters.most of them dont work and the ones which works makes light colors brighter .so its tough to play games. My friends told me that Ntsc-pal property depends upon a single wire in the Ps2 motherboard , changing it can make the ps2 into a Pal system. I have then googled about it and found out this wire changing stuff works. But no website has detailed info or help on it.It would be helpful if you can give me a link or give a detailed help on how to change this wire.
Thanx in Advance
I don't think so.
