Rome: The Complete Series [Blu-ray] List Price: $139.99 Sale Price: $74.99 |

Family dysfunction. Treachery. Betrayal. Coarse profanity. Brutal violence. Graphic (and sometimes brutal) sex. No, it's not The Sopranos, it's Rome, HBO's madly ambitious series that transfixed viewers with its lavishly mounted spectacle and human dramas of the historical figures and fictional characters. Set in 52 B.C., Rome charts the dramatic shifts in the balance of power between former friends Pompey Magnus (Kenneth Cranham), leader of the Senate, and Julius Caesar (Ciaran Hinds), whose imminent return after eight years to Rome after conquering the Gauls, has the ruling class up in arms. At the heart of Rome is the odd couple friendship between two soldiers who fortuitously become heroes of the people. Lucius Vorenus (Kevin McKidd) is married, honorable, and steadfast. Titus Pullo (Ray Stevenson) is an amoral rogue whose philosophy is best summed up, "I kill my enemies, take their gold, and enjoy their women." Among Rome's most compelling subplots is Lucius's strained relationship with his wife, Niobe (Indira Varma), who is surprised to see her husband alive (but not as surprised as he is to find her upon his homecoming with a newborn baby in her arms!). Any viewer befuddlement over Rome's intrigues and machinations, and determining who is hero and who is foe, disappears the minute Golden Globe-nominee Polly Walker appears as Atia, Caesar's formidable niece and a villainess for the ages. In the first episode alone, she offers her already married daughter as a bride to the recently widowed Pompey, and the viewer eagerly awaits to see what (or who) she'll do next.Season 2 begins in the wake of Julius Caesar's assassination, and charts the power struggle to fill his sandals between "vulgar beast" Mark Antony (James Purefoy) and "clever boy" Octavian (Simon Woods), who is surprisingly named Caesar's sole heir. The series' most compelling relationship is between fellow soldiers and unlikely friends, the honorable Lucius Vorenus and Titus "Violence is the only trade I know" Pullo, who somewhat reverse roles when Vorenus is overcome with grief in the wake of his wife's suicide. Season 2 considerably ups the ante in the rivalry between Atia, who is Antony's mistress, and Servilia (Lindsay Duncan) with attempted poisonings and sickening torture. Another gripping subplot is Vorenus's estrangement from his children, who, at the climax of the season opener are presumed slaughtered, but whose true fate may be even more devastating to the father who cursed them. Rome is a painstakingly mounted production that earned well-deserved Emmy nominations in such categories as costumes, set design, and art direction. In writing Rome's epitaph, we come to praise this series, not to bury it. Although two seasons was not enough to establish a Rome empire, it stands as one of HBO's crowning achievements. --Donald Liebenson ROME:COMPLETE SERIES - Blu-Ray Movie |

This release contains the first two seasons of the show.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: TELEVISION/SERIES & SEQUELS Rating: NR UPC: 026359795527 Manufacturer No: 97955 Family dysfunction. Treachery. Betrayal. Coarse profanity. Brutal violence. Graphic (and sometimes brutal) sex. No, it's not The Sopranos, it's Rome, HBO's madly ambitious series that bloodily splatters the glory of Rome just as savagely as Monty Python and the Holy Grail soiled the good name of Camelot (but with far fewer laughs; very few funny things happen on the way to this forum). Set in 52 B.C. (Before Cable), Rome charts the dramatic shifts in the balance of power between former friends Pompey Magnus (Kenneth Cranham), leader of the Senate, and Julius Caesar (Ciaran Hinds), whose imminent return after eight years to Rome after conquering the Gauls, has the ruling class up in arms. At the heart of Rome is the odd couple friendship between two soldiers who fortuitously become heroes of the people. Lucius Vorenus (Kevin McKidd) is married, honorable, and steadfast. Any viewer befuddlement over Rome's intrigues and machinations, and determining who is hero and who is foe, disappears the minute Golden Globe-nominee Polly Walker appears as Atia, Caesar's formidable niece and a villainess for the ages. In the first hour alone, she offers her already married daughter as a bride to the recently widowed Pompey. Rome is a painstakingly mounted production that earned eight well-deserved Emmy nominations in such categories as costumes, set design, and art direction. Michael Apted (Coal Miner's Daughter) was honored with a Director's Guild Award for the first episode, "The Stolen Eagle." But artistic considerations aside, instantly addicted viewers will agree with Atia, who notes at one point, "I adore the secrecy, the intrigue. It's most thrilling." Season 2 begins in the wake of Julius Caesar's assassination, and charts the power struggle to fill his sandals between "vulgar beast" Mark Antony (James Purefoy) and "clever boy" Octavian (Simon Woods), who is surprisingly named Caesar's sole heir. The series' most compelling relationship is between fellow soldiers and unlikely friends, the honorable Lucius Vorenus (Kevin McKidd) and Titus "Violence is the only trade I know" Pullo (Ray Stevenson), who somewhat reverse roles when Vorenus is overcome with grief in the wake of his wife's suicide. Season 2 considerably ups the ante in the rivalry between Atia (an Emmy-worthy Polly Walker), who is Antony's mistress, and Servilia (Lindsay Duncan) with attempted poisonings and sickening torture. Another gripping subplot is Vorenus's estrangement from his children, who, at the climax of the season opener are presumed slaughtered, but whose true fate may be even more devastating to the father who cursed them. Rome's second season does not scrimp on the series' sex and violence, in both cases exceedingly brutal. But in this cauldron of treachery and betrayal, words, too, are vicious, as when a defiant Atia ominously tells Octavian's new wife, Livia, "Far better women that you have sworn to [destroy me]. Go look for them now." In writing Rome's epitaph, we come to praise this series, not to bury it. Although two seasons was not enough to establish a Rome empire, it stands as one of HBO's crowning achievements. --Donald Liebenson |

R4 Card - Adventures
Rick Dangerous landing his plane on the Amazon in search of the lost tribes Goolu ...
But a nice twist of fate they end up in the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi, with
Homebrew programmers and reliable R4 card for Nintendo DS System / DSI. They can help to avoid this anger Rick Amazonas antagonists? I think you can. Allows you to R4 and Nintendo DS stylus, you may be able to get through the levels easily ... But it is not wrong it is too easy. Rick dangerous than the Nintendo DS or the original Amiga version is a simple platform game, and the value of time and effort into the game.
Although what I wrote was a quote screen 100% load, it is really only read the loading screen to the good old classic games like this is just it should be for all.
One of the enthusiasts were memories of the game platform in the form of a short style really leading Indian Jones character. Undoubltly when the hero himself famous movies. Giant stone balls roll you right in the first five minutes of the game. And a hero, he was short? New Indian Jones? Not ... It was none other than Rick Dangerous Core Design. It was one of the reasons I want a lot of old Amiga 500 Enough that I took the one I sold on eBay 10 years ago, the original Amiga 500
Okay, I'll be over, and assumes that all have read or heard of Rick Dangerous player. For those not on a short walk away. Rick Dangerous is a platform game developed by Core Design for the Amiga, Atari ST and 8-bit computers developed and DOS-based PC. It was released in 1989 and published by Rainbird Software in Europe and around the world, and Micro-play brand (part of MicroProse) in America. Later he published two other games - Stunt Car Racer and Microprose Soccer was a Commodore 64 Power Play 64 cartridge. We do not see the game is packed and only Rick Dangerous itself (or to concentrate even for those of us memories of the fund!)
Why do we talk about the game, which was published in 1989? How can you be relevant to what you play. Well, if you know anything about challenging platform games, or gaming platform, you can view the grandfather of the game from the start. Really. Many parts of the game has participated in many of the new generation gaming platform. If more than one occasion, for the old is new. Assistance and commitment of the programmer, or homebrew games run pure love and joy in it. You can also use the R4 card, keep Rick Dangerous player in the hand and used to the current generation of consoles, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi. And it costs nothing, because the game is available free of charge. Not commercial, and can be downloaded from NDS to enjoy the system (and many other systems) have the R4 card for Nintendo DS and the Wii itself, of course.
The game is really based only on almosy, and to some extent when the script Indiana Jones series, ie, an attacker Lost Ark directly on the stone after the first game (only a few seconds of the game!) This happens when one of the most memorable scenes from the movie Indiana Jones.
Weapons that you have on your person, is a simple pistol and a series of dynamite. These two weapons are sure that all the bad guys to take place on the screen and the games. You need the fast itself. Dynamite gun, and you need to remove the necessary skills to get through the first 2-3 game at all levels. The second level is a pyramid in Egypt. It takes a lot of hard dare level of three level three, Rick must Schwarzendumpf Nazi fortress castle to rescue captured Allied soldiers. Escape soldiers tell him that the Nazis were planning a rocket attack in London. Rick eventually penetrate into their secret rocket base.
Original gathered rave reviews. Many newspapers, in which case the game 92% or more reported. And I sure version of the R4 DS card bin / Homebrew release for the Nintendo DS / DSi never commercially, Garner is the same kind of criticism as well as the retro look and great gameplay. Really amazing is that it is not a commercial statement, and that this free version a boon to homebrew developers as the original.
When you are ready for all Retro-go and really some of the games that are not only unique and exciting lap time, but there were games that define the genre helped, so the Nintendo DS and the R4 DS and the start of the Charter Take some the hottest and coolest game ever retro style.

Has anyone played?
1 Civilization
2 F/A 18 interceptor
It's an old game i had when i used to have my amiga.
Do you happen to know where i can get a windows version of it? I havent finished those games when my amiga packed up.
(Rich answering here!)
I haven't played them myself personally but if you look around the internet you'll find an amiga emulator which will run them both, just remember that you'll need 3 things for it
1. The emulator itself - personally i use winuae, thats the best amiga emulator going, it'll basically turn your pc into an amiga
2. Kickstart roms - these are illegal to download unless you own them but i'm sure you'll be able to find them eventually if you search them (whether or not your amiga is broken you'll still legally have the kickstart in it so this shouldn't be a problem)
3. The games themselves, try searching for amiga roms, yet again these are illegal to download unless you own the originals (from what i hear) usually they come in .zip and .rar files but certain places may offer them in .adf files (Amiga Disk Format)
Hope this helps ya and happy gaming mate!
