Passive Gen 2 RFID tag on metal can deliver long range
The usage of passive UHF Gen 2 RFID tag on metal is limited due to the disturbance of RF signals from metal. In order to aid the process, DAILY RFID has developed passive Gen 2 RFID Tag for metal surface, which can deliver long range on metal tagging even under wretched conditions.
The RFID on-metal tag is a perfect choice in applications which require tags to be applied in metallic environment. Its unique construction enables the passive Gen 2 RFID tags to perform well in harsh environments, such as dipping in water and acid.
The Gen 2 RFID tag for metal tagging is designed for worldwide deployment, with operating frequency customizable from 860MHz to 960MHz. Besides, it has an impressive read range up to 3 meters on metal basing on different RFID readers.
The Passive Gen 2 RFID tag can easily be affixed to any metal surface either with its self-adhesive 3M Glue or mechanically with screw. Some small, fully encapsulated tags of the family have been successfully used in asset tracking applications such as railway and warehousing solutions.

The mass of a metal cylinder varies jointly as its height and the square of the radius of its base. One cylinder has a mass of 120 g. Find the mass of a second cylinder made of the same metal, 3 times as high, and having one-half the base radius of the first.
First we find a good density formula.
Let m = the mass of the cylinder, and V = the volume ∴ D(m, V) = the density in relationship to the mass and volume.
D(m, V) = m/V
We want to get more detailed then that (We don't know the Volume of the first cylinder). So we find use the volume of a prism formula.
Let b = the base, h = the height ∴ V(b, h) = the volume in relationship to the base and height.
V(b, h) = bh.
Still more detail (don't know the base). So we use the area of a parabolic sector.
Let θ = the angle of the sector, r = an axis, and a = the other axis ∴ A(θ, r, a) = the area of the circle in relationship to the angle and both radii.
b = A(θ, r, a) = θra/2
We know that the angle of a circle is 2π rad, and that the axes are equal (r = a), so:
b(r) = πr²
Plug b(r) into V(b, h):
V(r, h) = πr²h
Plug V(r, h) into D(m, V):
D(m, r, h) = m/(πr²h)
This is good for finding the density of the first one. But we need to find the mass of the second one, so solve for m.
D = m/(πr²h) // Multiply by πr²h and flip.
m(D, r, h) = πDr²h
Okay, we have our formula. So, the first cylinder has a mass of 120 g, but we get no other information, so we use the r and h variables still.
And we need to find the mass of the second cylinder, which we already have a formula for. We know that it's 3 times as high, and has a radius one-half the original one. But we don't know D. The density is constant however. So, we'll use the density of the first cylinder.
D(120 g, r, h) = 120 g/(πr²h)
120 g/(πr²h) is the density of the first cylinder.
Plug 120 g, 0.5r, and 3h into m(D, r, h)
m(120 g/(πr²h), 0.5r, 3h) is the mass of the second cylinder in relation ship to the first cylinder's density, radius and height.
m(120 g/(πr²h), 0.5r, 3h) = (120 g/r²)0.25r²3
Answer: m(120 g/(πr²h), 0.5r, 3h) = 90 g
Base metals to rally this year on funds
Base metals will rally this year as funds are set to maintain their buy-side bias, while strong Chinese growth will overshadow lackluster growth in mature economies, according to Natixis. The investment bank said in a report this week metals continue to gain acceptance as an asset class, are increasingly used by funds to diversify their portfolios, and are seen as a play on China and on global ...
