How to Recognize a Pyramid Scheme

Ok, you have just come from a very important meeting that your best friend has been begging you to come to for the last week. You finally relent and now that you have heard the symphony, you now can not bring into focus what has been happening to you for the past 24 hours. So, your friend calls you and sings into your ear, to the tune of the Beatles song, " I wanna hold your hand",  I wanna see your wallet"

You are saying to yourself, "Gee this seems like a pyramid scheme.."  Let me think here. My good friend, Bob, has me come into his business, and then I get three, and they get three, and i help those who got three get their three and so on, and so on, and so forth in such a way that I can not see straight and the 3 piano's in the picture are all out of focus.. OMG, I can not see the piano's from the forest of multi-level marketers out there ready to hold my hand into the land of milk and honey..

So, here is where you get your life into focus:

1.) The business model you just looked at must, and I repeat must, be based upon the sale of a product and service that you can register on that site for free in order to buy the product according to the FTC's most recent rulings.

2.) There can be no inducements made, suggested, or inferred! This means you were not shown a check with many zero's on it, you have not been told that the Ferrari Bob the BS artist showed up was paid for by money earned in this MLM, and you were not inferred to be led to believe that you can earn tens of thousands of dollars.

A legitimate company will offer you a free test drive with absolutely no strings attached!

A legitimate company will offer you free online training once you register. There will be no DVD's to buy, no magazines to buy that can be out dated by the time you recieve them, and there will be no distributor kits to buy.

3.) The sale of product should be that of a name brand vendor with full public disclosures. The products must be of value to the masses and should be name branded so that there is name recognition. Imagine trying to sell bottles of Bubba's Brew in which Bubba is hawking an exotic mild of wild berries from his homeland in HOBO for $45 per bottle that can be bought at a Mega Store for $9.99 per bottle.

4.) Recruiting must be controlled and the process is such that the consumer must be informed of his or her rights up front and personal by the person looking to recruit this person. In this process, the recruit should be made to sign a waiver acknowledging that he or she has been shown a business opportunity that may be a source of revenue depending upon how you absorb the training and how many hours you can devote to training and development. You should be told that you are buying a business opportunity that may or may not make you more than 10 dollars!

So, if you have been shown a business model that has no inducements, no fees to sign up, and name brand products, chances are you may be onto something great! Feel free to comment on any new MLM opportunities out here in cyberspace that you would like to have evaluiated free of charge!!

Bingo lottery company 1212 90th st. ste 2000 Niagara Falls,NY 14304-2602.. If this is a scam where can i find.

my daughter recieved a check for $2000.00. It said it was from the bingo mega draw and the phone number was to a Linda Cole at the company. Please advise if this a legit company or is a fraud/scam company and how to stop this from happening to another person whom might cash this check and be charge for it. please help. I have gone to BBB. and also looked up the address and found that it is in the same area as the National Lottery Company. But unsure if it is real... Please help

It's the second biggest scam around.

The check is counterfeit and will be returned long after your daughter has sent in the fee.
