Benefits of Multiple Monitors
There has been much ado as of late about the benefits of increased desktop space. Multiple studies have shown that more computer desktop space equals faster work, greater productivity, and increased employee satisfaction. Most computer users would agree that there's a certain amount of frustration connected with constant window switching and a miniscule desktop.
Technology for the Everyman
With plummeting monitor and multi-port video card prices, the possibility of having multiple monitors for your computer is no longer a rich man's fantasy. There are any number of affordable solutions and possibilities for those looking to reap the benefits afforded by increased desktop space.
Two Ports are Better Than One
Your first option is to purchase a multi-port video card that supports multiple monitors. Most new mid-to high end cards will have at least two out ports and will support two or three monitors, while some specialty cards will support up to four. Video cards come in a couple of flavors (DVI and VGA), so you can either scratch the high-def itch or use your old VGA monitor. Some may even have both types on the same card.
Two Cards, Better Than One?
Another possibility is to run two separate video cards off of your motherboard. There are some limitations to this option. First, both cards must have chips from the same manufacturer. That means that you can only pair up two ATi or two NVidia cards. Also, the two cards have to use a different type of slot (AGP and PCI, for example). The only exceptions to this are cards that feature special technology allowing dual video cards to be paired up, like NVidia's SLI technology, for example.
Add an Extra Port to Your Laptop
Laptop users have a different set of solutions. Most newer laptops come with some sort of video out option, so you can pair up your laptop screen with an external monitor to get an instant dual-monitor setup. If you're looking for more, however, the VTBook DVI PCMCIA card is a great option. This expensive, yet impressive solution creates an additional DVI-D port using your laptop's PCMCIA cardslot. This port can be split using special dual head cables, allowing you to gain up to 3 additional monitor outputs.
Split the Signal with the Matrox DualHead2Go
For those looking to go with something a little bit more economical, there's the Matrox DualHead2Go, a unique product that splits your signal externally, enabling multiple monitors with a completely external, hardware-based approach. This solution has been geared heavily towards business travelers who are looking for a way to experience the benefits of a multi-monitor desktop while on the road. One of the best features about this Matrox adapter is that it requires no hardware installation on the laptop itself, and the split video signal experiences absolutely no degradation or signal loss. Matrox has also included an online compatibility guide, so you can make sure it'll work with your setup before you buy.

Sonnet Technology Fusion D400Q â RAID Data Recovery Services
Sonnet Technology Fusion D400Q – RAID Data Recovery Services
Fusion D400Q is yet another storage device from Sonnet Technology that is catered to the digital content creation and editing demands. D400Q desktop and R400Q rackmount storage systems (except 0 TB models) provide up to 6TB of storage in four swappable drive modules. It offers four ways to connect to a computer.
Connected to a Sonnet Tempo SATA E4P PCIe or X4P PCI-X host controller installed in a Mac or Windows computer, a Fusion D400Q drive can be accessed through its port multiplier at maximum speed, whether configured as a RAID 0, 1, 10, or JBOD set.
In RAID 0 mode, a single Fusion D400Q or R400Q system achieves data throughput of 220MB/sec, fast enough to support multiple streams of DV, HDV, DVCPRO, ProRes 422, or a single stream of uncompressed 10-bit NTSC video. Up to four Fusion D400Q can be ganged on a single Tempo SATA E4P or X4P controller for enhanced data throughput and double, triple, or even quadruple the available streams, as well as the newer video formats.
Fusion D400Q enclosures use a high performance SATA II port multiplier to manage the enclosed drives, eliminating the need of multiple cable connectivity. Connected via a single FireWire 800, FireWire 400, or USB cable, all four drives can be accessed at the full speed of the respective interface.
Having to deal with data loss in hard disks? No more worry about data loss in these high capacity drives. At werecoverdata.com, you can find one of the most reliable data recovery services.
Sonnet Technology Fusion D500P – RAID Data Recovery Services
Fusion D500P is a five-drive SATA storage system from Sonnet Technology. The system offers the speed, versatility, and reliability required for today’s high-definition digital industry.
Connected to a Sonnet Tempo SATA E4P PCIe or X4P PCI-X host controller installed in a Mac or Windows computer, a Fusion D500P system’s drives can be accessed through its port multiplier at high speed, in RAID 0, 1, 10, or JBOD set. In RAID 0 striped mode, a single Fusion D500P achieves 240MB/sec, fast enough to support multiple streams of DV, HDV, DVCPRO, or uncompressed 8-bit 1080i HD video. Up to four Fusion D500Ps can be ganged on a single Tempo SATA E4P or X4P controller for double, triple, or even quadruple the available streams as well as the newer video formats.
The Fusion D500P enclosure uses the SATA II port multiplier to manage the enclosed drives, eliminating the need of multiple cable connections. Fusion D500P uses a swappable fan module with a fan that is 80 percent quieter than a standard case fan, making this system perfectly suited for use in noise-sensitive environments. Important applications of Fusion D500P include Apple Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 video editing software, and video capture cards from AJA, Blackmagic Design, Matrox and Bluefish444.

Sonnet Technology Fusion R1600 RAID – RAID Data Recovery Services
Sonnet’s Fusion RAID storage systems are known for their higher data throughput and enhanced data protection features required for modern high-bandwidth applications. Fusion RX1600RAID is built taking these attributes into considerations. This rackmount 16-drive SATA storage system offers the fastest performance and biggest capacity typical of Sonnet products.
Configured for RAID 5, Fusion RX1600RAID is capable of 2K (2048 x 1556) LOG RGB capture and playback. A Fusion RX1600RAID system can achieve up to 1000 MB/sec read and 750 MB/sec write (AJA Kona 1080HD test), fast enough to handle uncompressed 10-bit 1080 4:4:4 HD, or multiple streams of ProRes 422, uncompressed 8-bit 1080 HD, DV, HDV, and DVCPRO video. If offers data transfer speed up to 1000 MB/s read and 750 MB/s write, depending on configuration.
In RAID 4, RAID 5, RAID 6, or DVRAID mode, Fusion RX1600RAID systems ensure maximum file protection in the even of a drive failure. These systems can be configured for audio-visual alerts, including email alerts in the event of a drive failure. Fusion RX1600RAID systems offers various other RAID configurations for increased flexibility and balanced performance. All this flexibility is accomplished without switches. The system provides a simple to use configuration utility that allows the user to optimize the setup for specific workflow requirements.
With an awesome 16TB available, Fusion RX1600RAID further offers expansion capabilities using a serial attached SCSI (SAS) expander in daisy-chain mode. The system does not require an additional RAID controller card. Fusion RX1600RAID also features redundant, hot-swappable power supplies and redundant, hot-swappable fans with auto failover protection.

How can I install two video cards?
I have an AGP NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 200 and a MATROX G450 Dual Head DVI PCI card. They were both in and working and then (months later) my monitor freaked out and I broke the install trying to update it. I know it works, I used them for months. How can I reinstall them? I always get one or the other, but never both.
