can a pure sine wave inverter run a freezer rated at 90W?
the freezer is of the compressor type and therefore contains a motor. I thought a pure sine wave inverter would be ok for an inductive load but a local supplier contradicts this. I need to power the freezer on my motorhome whilst travelling.
I would have thought that a pure sinewave inverter would run an AC motor, as well, but would be unnecessarily expensive. All you need is a basic inverter (the inductive component smooths the output) but, surely you could find a freezer that runs off a 12/24 volt DC supply directly, as that would be far more efficient?
If the freezer has been working, prior to your departure (from a mains supply?) would it not stay frozen for a 24 hour period, thus giving you time to get to your destination without need for a mobile source of power?
