The Day the Earth Stood Still The Day the Earth Stood Still
List Price: $14.98
Sale Price: $6.79

A hallmark of the science fiction genre as well as a wry commentary on the political climate of the 1950s, The Day the Earth Stood Still is a sci-fi movie less concerned with special effects than with a social parable. A spacecraft lands in Washington, D.C., carrying a humanoid messenger from another world (Michael Rennie) imparting a warning to the people of Earth to cease their violent behavior. But panic ensues as the messenger lands and is shot by a nervous soldier. His large robot companion destroys the Capitol as the messenger escapes the confines of the hospital. He moves in with a family as a boarder and blends into society to observe the full range of the human experience. Director Robert Wise (West Side Story) not only provides one of the most recognizable icons of the science fiction world in his depiction of the massive robot loyal to his master, but he avoids the obvious camp elements of the story to create a quiet and observant story highlighting both the good and the bad in human nature. --Robert Lane

Classic sci-fi drama with a message stars Michael Rennie as Klaatu, an emissary from the stars who arrives on Earth with his robot companion, Gort, to warn mankind about the danger of nuclear warfare. Patricia Neal, Sam Jaffe, Billy Gray also star; Robert Wise directs. "Klaatu barada nikto!" 92 min. Standard; Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital mono, Dolby Digital stereo, French Dolby Digital mono, Spanish Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English, Spanish; audio commentary by Wise; "making of" documentary; newsreel footage; script; featurettes; photo gallery; theatrical trailer.

Polycom SoundStation Premier EX Polycom SoundStation Premier EX
List Price: $0.00
Sale Price: $395.00

Meet your executive teleconferencing needs with the full-duplex Polycom SoundStation Premier EX. This model has two microphone ports for extra coverage with optional microphones, ideal for very large rooms and situations demanding the highest audio quality. With conventional, half-duplex speakerphones, only one party can speak at a time without clipping off the other party's voice. Echoes and howling can further disrupt your conversations and lead to costly misunderstandings. But because of the SoundStation Premier's full-duplex operation, you can speak naturally and hear both sides of the conversation clearly. The Premier EX ensures the highest sound quality with three microphones and a digitally-tuned speaker for 360-degree coverage of an office or conference room. Polycom's Acoustic Clarity Technology uses digital signal processing with analog telephone lines to eliminate the clipping and fading that plague most speakerphones. This technology improves speaker and microphone performance over the full bandwidth of the telephone line--300 Hz to 3,500 Hz. Other features that boost sound quality include dynamic telephone-line echo cancellation, dynamic room-echo cancellation, signal depression, microphone switching, and digital filtering of voice signals. The Premier EX model also features a separate echo canceler for each of its three console mics, optimized local speech quality, and sub-band echo cancellation for incredible stability, even at maximum volume. The SoundStation Premier EX now also comes with a Palm OS software interface, called the SoundStation Premier Dialer. This enables you to access and dial phone numbers directly from the contact-manager database within a Palm OS handheld computer (from Palm, Handspring, TRG, IBM, and Sony). The Palm handheld also functions as a remote control, allowing you to control all SoundStation features directly from the Palm handheld. The Premier EX has a full alphanumeric keypad for dialing with a mute button and flash key to access functions like hold, conference, and transfer. Other phone features include caller ID, a speed dial, and a 20-digit redial. View call information on the 16-character LCD. Access phone and conference settings with the full-function infrared remote control. The Premier works with any analog phone system or with an adapter (sold separately) for digital phone systems. It comes with a wall module, 25-foot power cable, 7-foot telephone cable, and a one-year warranty.

Console-based video gaming is one of the most popular of modern digital technologies, cutting across age, demographic and gender divides. Today's players have three dominant platforms to choose from: Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 by Microsoft. Each is an impressive multifunctional device, with designs meant to encourage integration into existing home entertainment systems and networks, but each goes about this in different ways. Taking a few minutes to examine the main features, and getting more familiar with available options, accessories and possible limitations of each console is the optimal way to determine which is the best choice for the players in a household. Considering the types of games to be played, their availability for the consoles being considered and the ability of those consoles' to present the best gaming experience possible for the game's genre and content is important. The games developed for Wii tend to be more easily accessible, family-friendly productions heavily influenced by Nintendo's classic gaming history. Filled with cartoon-like and childlike characters as well as Arcade-style gameplay situations, Wii games are often referred to as "Casual Games," or "Party Games" typified by brief, simple "mini-games." These small games-within-games are tailor-made for players new to the puzzle-solving aspects of gaming and how that is translated through game controllers to the screen by the player. PS3 and Xbox 360 provide the processing power that Action-Adventure, Shooter, Racing and RPG games need. View larger. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles are the current version of earlier console releases whose user bases were rooted in game genres such as Action-Adventure, Shooters, Racing, Sports, Role-playing games (RPG) and so on. Gameplay developed in these genres tends to require more focus on the part of the player, and more graphics processing power from the console in order to maintain a quality experience. That is what continues to be the main focus of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Capable of full 1080p HD quality graphics presentation when used with the proper cables and displays, in this area Xbox 360 and PS3 are far beyond what Wii is capable of. Iconic game franchises like Halo, God of War, Fable, Metal Gear Solid, Gears of War, Killzone, Mass Effect, The Elder Scrolls and many others have grown up on these platforms, feeding off of their power. And with the rise of online multiplayer gaming through Xbox LIVE and PSN the high energy, fine graphical specialties of these platforms only continues to grow. Motion Gaming Although motion gaming has been front and center since the launch of the Wii in 2006, the other two consoles have their own motion gaming offerings that provide unique play opportunities on their respective platforms that have also found a wide audience. See a breakdown of the motion gaming capacity of each of the systems below. Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk The Wii Remote Plus controller is the standard wireless controller that ships with each Wii. It combines the intuitive motion controls of the original Wii Remote with the precision technology of the Wii MotionPlus accessory, all built-in to a single unit. The device is handled in a wand-like fashion, and uses internal gyroscope and accelerometer technology to pinpoint the players movements and physical positioning which it then relates into a game via a sensor bar connected to the console. The Wii Remote Plus has only a few buttons making it easy to use. It also contains a speaker, a rumble feature, and an external connector for other input devices like the Nunchuk controller and the Classic Controller. PlayStation Move PlayStation Move offers a new and innovative gaming experience for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) system by fusing realistic, high-definition gaming along with accurate, intuitive control. Consisting of a PlayStation Move motion controller, a PlayStation Move Navigation controller (optional in most games) and a PlayStation Eye camera (all sold separately), PlayStation Move enables sophisticated, ultra accurate motion control and immersive gameplay only possible on the PS3 system. In addition, the PlayStation Eye features the ability to process up to 120 frames/second and a built-in 4 microphone array for pristine video quality and video chat capabilities. Kinect for Xbox 360 Easy to use and fun for everyone, Kinect sensor for Xbox 360 utilizes revolutionary full-body tracking to put players in the center of the fun that is 100% controller-free. After configuring itself by registering a range of points across your body, this amazing technology allows Kinect to recognize and mirror your movements in the game, in effect making your body the controller. The sensor is compatible with every Xbox 360, features a color VGA motion camera (640 x 480 pixel resolution @ 30 frames per second), a depth camera (640 x 480 pixel resolution @ 30 frames per second) and an array of 4 microphones supporting single speaker voice recognition. Ibm Model

Ts2340 Ultrium Tape Drive by Ibm

TS2340 Tape Drive from IBM combines the reliability, robustness and performance of the IBM tape. The IBM ultrium-4 model has 120 MB/second native data transfer speed while the LTO-3 offers 80 MB/second native speed.

IBM ultrium-4’s native capacity has been doubled (800GB) in comparison to that of the LTO ultrium 3. Ultrium 4 has the encryption technology and it supports “application managed encryption†on tape drives of LTO-4 SAS. It has option of rack mount (19 inch) that can accommodate single IBM TS2340 drive. The IBM drive (3580 machine type) offers high performance and capacity for “mid range open systemsâ€. LTO 4 Tape drive of IBM can write and read data cartridges of LTO-3 and has the ability to read the cartridges of ultrium-2.

The new models from IBM can attach to IBM System i, IBM System p, MS Windows, UNIX, Sun Solaris, PC servers and IBM system x. TS2340 drive is external rack mountable or stand alone unit and entry point for IBM LTO tape family products. The users of DLT, SDLT, 8mm, 4mm or ¼ inch tape drives have migration path provided by the IBM TS2340 drive.

Enhancements have been made in the IBM ultrium-4 to improve its performance and efficiency. So, the tape capacity has been increased to 800GB and transfer speed up to 120MB/second. Its native data is also improved over LTO-3. It has larger internal buffer of 256MB and has the encryption technology. IBM LTO4 has cartridge memory of 8KB with LTO-4 media. The integrated electronics use the copper technology engineered by IBM. In order to attach IBM TS2340 drive to IBM System p, IBM System i, PC servers, Sun Solaris, UNIX, HP-UX and IBM System x requires appropriate host software’s levels.

TS2340 drive contains LTO-4 drive and has the ability and technology to fulfill heavy requirements of backup tape data storage. Drive models of TS2340 incorporate technology of IBM ultrium-4. In TS2340 drive model, data tracks that can be written at a time are 16. The IBM ultrium LTO-4 drive writes and reads LTO-3 cartridges at LTO-3’s rates & capacity. TS2340 LTO4 SAS drive supports data encryption on base tape drive with LTO4 media that meets the specifications of LTO consortium & application managed encryption.

IBM 3589 tape cartridges have the WORM technology and have the features that support the data retention & archiving applications along with the applications that require audit trial. These data cartridges work with LTO4 drive for preventing the deletion or alteration of the user data. IBM 3589 models can specify color coding & serial of starting volume. They are packed in bulk or jewel cases (individual). Every cartridge of IBM 3589 has cartridge memory (built-in) that improves media reliability and functionality by storing the information about media performance and access history to be used by the tape drive every time data tape is accessed. IBM ultrium4 drive has internal (256MB) data buffer while the ultrium3 drive has internal data buffer of 128MB.

The IBM engineered integrated electronics reduce tape drive’s components, power requirements, and the chip temperature is also lowered. All of these features improve the tape drive’s reliability. IBM ultrium-4 drive has 16 channel dual stage head actuator. Head actuator gives precision alignment of head that supports higher density of track and hence enhances the data integrity.

How do i find the model number on my IBM THINKPAD?

I need to replace battery for my laptop but cant find the model number.

Several places you can check:

* Look at the laptop bottom. It should be either printed on a sticker or molded onto the plastic.

* Try right-clicking on "My Computer" and see if it's listed on the General tab.

* Try looking at the System Information (Run: msinfo32.exe). Look at the System Summary.
