There will be times in your life, both professional and personal, when you feel that you have no control over things that are happening around you. And you say "you are stressed out." What is stress? Stress is the emotional, mental and physical strain in reaction to pressures from the outside world. The word is derived from the Latin word 'stringere' which means to 'draw tight'. It is your body's way of responding to any kind of demand placed on it.
Some stress is good because it enables us to push ourselves harder and work better. But this lasts only for a short period, and over time, stress inhibits our ability to work properly and leads to physical symptoms like high blood pressure, allergies and depression. We need to react to and manage stress properly in our lives to ensure it works in our favor.
Stress Management is the ability to maintain control when situations, people and events get out of hand. There are certain strategies that you can use to manage the level of stress you are under and minimize its effects.
1. Talk to friends and family. This gives you a chance to express your feelings and vent them out.
2. Understand what brings on your stress. Once you know the source of your stress, you can find ways to either reduce the likelihood of it occurring or create more effective strategies to deal with it.
3. Do not try to be a perfectionist at all times. Try and prioritize what is truly important and don't overwhelm yourself by fretting about your entire workload.
4. Divide your tasks into smaller achievable ones. This way, as you complete one task, you will feel a sense of achievement and feel motivated to move on to the next one.
5. Notice if any of the muscles in your body are tense. One of the symptoms of stress is muscle tightening. Just noticing that will often relax the muscle. Stop and take a moment to breathe
6. Monitor the number of hours that you work in a week. Give yourself some time away from your business.
7. Do something you can feel good about. Wash the dishes, cook a meal for your family or read a book. Do something to help get your mind off yourself.
8. See if there really is something you can change or control in the situation. Change the way you see things and react to them.
9. Learn to relax - meditation and breathing exercises have proven to be very effective stress management techniques.
10. Remove yourself from the stressful situation. Take a break even if it is only for a few moments daily.
11. Set realistic goals for yourself. Reduce the number of things that you are involved in, take help from family or delegate responsibilities.
12. Get enough rest. A good night's sleep will rejuvenate you and help you deal with problematic issues.
13. Work off stress with physical activity. Exercise helps to reduce it. So, when you feel tense, go for a brisk walk around the block, play a game of tennis or do some gardening. Start doing regular exercise every day.
14. Managing your time is an integral part of stress management. Create a list of to-do tasks and do the most important ones, eliminate or postpone those not so crucial to your business.
15. Above all, be positive. Constantly keep telling yourself how well you can cope rather than how horrible everything is going to be.

Martin Yale Intimus Sp100 Score and Perf Machine Review
Overview:
- The Martin Yale SP100 is designed as high speed desktop scoring and perforating machine for small to medium sized printers, copy shops or professional organizations.
- The SP101 can be used to produce tent style business cards, occasion cards and tickets and is ideal for scoring or perforating items up to twelve inches wide.
- This fully adjustable machine is ideal for creating all sorts of high quality customized documents without the need to outsource the work.
Strengths / Features:
- The SP100 is designed for scoring or perforating papers as light as 20lb bond and as heavy as 110lb index. This makes the SP100 incredibly versatile for use in the production of a huge variety of deliverables.
- It can be adjusted for running sheets that are between 3-1/2" and 12" inches wide. This makes the SP101 ideal for creating tickets, brochures, and tent style business cards.
- The SP101 comes with one scoring wheel and one 14-tooth perforating wheel. However it is possible to purchase and add additional scoring and perforating wheels to customize the output of the unit. The machine can score documents, perforate documents or do both at the same time depending on your needs.
- The SP101 is actually quite easy to set up. It has special hubs that make placing the scoring and perforating wheels simple.
Weaknesses / Limitations:
- The maximum width that the SP100 can handle is 12 inches. This means that it is not ideal for perforating legal sized church bulletins or for scoring single piece perfect binding covers for binding letter sized documents. These applications would require a larger sized scoring machine such as the 3800AP or 3800FC.
- The Intimus SP100 uses a wheel for scoring. For high coverage digital printed items, a scoring wheel can result in cracking. If you plan on scoring materials that are printed using your digital printing equipment this may present a problem for you. Digitally printed documents that need to be scored and folded where the folds will occur on top of printing will most likely want to investigate a compression scoring machine to reduce cracking.
Recommendation:
- The Martin Yale Intimus SP100 is an excellent choice for small printers, copy shops and organizations that need an automatic solution for scoring and perforating their documents.
- This machine is ideal for short run production of tent style business cards, occasion cards and tickets.
- However, larger printers and users who need to score or perforate sheets that are wider than twelve inches or that require folding on digitally printed areas will most likely want to look for a larger more feature rich machine.

does anyone know how to determine the grade of a remington model 6?
Does anyone know the appro. value of a remington model six?
i have a remington model six pump action 30-06. it is just like the 7600 but it has a higher grade stock, shiny blue finish and in front of the mag well it has the 30-06 bottom end of the shell embeded into the reciever. i do know that it was made between 81 and 87 but i have not found the value as of yet.
Regular model:
Perf= 395 Exc= 350 VGood= 300
D Peerless Grade:
Perf= 1995 Exc= 1795 VGood= 1095
F Premier Grade:
Perf= 4195 Exc= 3795 VGood= 2695
F Premier Gold Grade:
Perf= 6495 Exc= 5195 VGood= 3995
I'm not familiar with the M-6, but I do know Remington's letter grades go A-Z, plain-to-fancy. So a D grade was actually a lower grade than an F, etc..
Usually, the higher letter and Premier and Gold grades have decorative engraving and even gold inlaying on the receiver. I don't exactly know what the M-6's options were, but I'm pretty sure if its void of any scroll-work or engraving it would be a Regular model or a D grade at most.
