Shoes are a runner's most important tool, and keeping your shoes dry in between runs is one of the easiest ways to prolong the life of your running shoes. Obviously, you should feel free to get them as wet as necessary while you are out running and having a good time!
When your feet are not in your shoes, though, you should keep them as dry as possible. That will prolong the life of the shoes, as well as prevent you from hurting yourself or getting blisters when you put them back on.
You have to be careful about how you keep your shoes dry, though. Never put your shoes next to a heater or in direct sunlight, which can damage the shoes even easier than leaving them wet by degrading the rubber. Instead, always make sure that your shoes are at least a few feet away from the heat source, preferably not outside in the sun or right underneath a window where a lot of sunlight comes in.
A good way to allow your shoes to dry faster is to pull the insoles out of the shoe when you are not wearing them. If you pull the insoles out so that just the ball of the foot is sticking inside of the shoe it will be easier that to keeps the appropriate insoles with the correct shoes. That will also make it faster for you to put the shoe back together before wearing it.
Removing the insole will allow air to circulate within the shoe, which will speed up drying time. This will only take you a few moments at the end of a run and a few moments before going out for a run to accomplish, and can really speed up the safe drying of your shoes by quite a margin.
Another way to speed up the drying of your shoes is to get them up off of the floor. If you put your shoes on a rack, more air can get under the shoes and you can allow your wet shoes to drip onto the floor rather than having any water that might drip staying in contact with the fabric of your shoes. I recommend putting the wetter shoes closer to the floor than your dry shoes so that you can keep them dry. As you wear the dry shoes out in the rain and puddles, you can move your previously wet shoes higher up the rack to replace with your newly wet shoes.
For extremely wet running shoes there are two very effective methods that you can additionally use to dry them quickly.
The first thing that you can do, and the most effective, is to put your shoes in front of a fan. This will make sure that you have dry air constantly moving past your shoes, which will help the moisture trapped in your shoes evaporate and be carried away by the air your fan is moving over them. This is the safest way to dry your shoes, and works especially well when you place your shoes on a rack.
The second thing that you can do is to wad up some newspaper and stuff the toes of your shoes with them. This will not hurt your shoes, although the ink can seep off of the newspaper page and stain the inside of your shoes if you leave them in there for too long. Stuffing the shoes with newspaper can speed the process up by absorbing the moisture from the shoe and into the paper. Just be sure that you remove or replace the newspaper quickly and regularly.
Keep your shoes dry between runs, and you can start your next run in them without having to worry about uncomfortable feet or developing blisters. It will also help control the fragrance that wet shoes can develop over time.

How to clean the windows registry
First and foremost you should know that manually editing the registry is not for the average user.
The windows registry Has hundreds of thousands of entries and changing or deleting the wrong one can cause your PC to stop booting forever, Yes I said STOP BOOTING FOREVER. I tell you this so you can understand just how complex and important the registry is. Manually editing your registry is only for advanced users, Very advanced users, I only do it when I absolutly have to and only when I know exactly what I am doing and why.
Now if you are sufficiently scared we can move on.
This brings me to my own rule for working any problem in windows. The rule of three, is my personal rule. It states that anything you want to do in windows you should have three different pieces of software to achieve. I have found that no matter how good the software or how many promises they make you, no one piece of software can do the job completely. To really get things done in windows requires a multi pronged approached. If I want to clean the adware or spyware off of my system I will use three different programs, Adaware, Spybot S&D, and Spyware blaster. Run them one at a time and then follow their instructions.
Windows and the windows registry are extremely complex and large, keeping them running well and free of errors will allow your system to boot faster and run more reliably. Any error in the registry can cause a number of different problems in windows. Some errors in the registry will cause windows to search for a program or driver it cannot find, and if it does not find it where it thinks it should be, then windows will try to find it in other places. When you think about this you realize why this slows down booting. If you have several errors in your registry then booting can take a really long time, and be very frustrating. This is only one kind of error that can occur in the registry, there are several others but we wont go into that.
Now lets get to the How To bit of this article.
First thing to do is to get yourself at least two and if you are following my Rule Of Three, then three different registry software packages. (At the end of this article you will find three I recommend.)
Now install each one, but do not run any of them until you have all of them installed on your system.
Now run the first piece of software, follow the instructions, if it asks you if you want to make a back up say yes. Some software will want to make a snapshot of the registry if yours does, say yes. Most of the software available is designed to make it easy to restore the registry if something goes wrong, so always say yes to backups and snapshot options. When the software has finished making a back up or snapshot of your registry, tell it to scan for errors. This may take a few minutes or only a few seconds, just wait for it to finish. The software will display a list of errors and a count of the errors it has found on your system. It will then present you with at least two choices, Fix/repair or delete. Choose the fix/repair option, this will have the software try to find solutions to the problems, then the software will return with the results of the fix/repair attempt. Some software will automatically delete the entries it cannot fix, some will ask you what to do about the ones it could not fix. If your software asks you what to do about the unfixed errors, choose to not do anything. Close the software.
Now run the second piece of software and follow its instructions again making any back ups or snapshots and then Scan again, again tell it to fix/repair. When it has finished close the software.
Now run the third piece of software and do the same again. If this time there are still unfixed error you can go ahead and tell the software to delete the errors it cant fix. At this point you can be pretty sure that all the errors that could be fixed have been fixed. Now tell the software to rescan your system, the scan should be faster now and should return no more errors. Close the software.
Now as a final check run the first software again and and see if it finds any errors, it should come back with only one or two or none if it finds any just tell it to delete. And You Are Done.
One last thing, some Registry repair software has an option to do deep cleaning or aggressive search, I do not recommend these options as they may damage the registry, and we are trying to repair the registry.
As promised here are links to three pieces of software I recommend, there are literally thousands available.

About the Author
I have been messing up computers and consumer electronics since I was 9years old, I quickly learned that if I did not want people to know what an idiot I was that I would have to learn to fix things myself.
That is how I got started.
I do not reccomend my path to others.
