Advice on wiring a shed: What consumer unit is needed?
I want to provide power to my new shed. I have run a cable through some 30m of conduit from the shed to the house, where a sparky has installed an outside socket. The socket taps into an exiting ring rather than a separate slot on the main consumer unit. I will be running a pond pump (40w), probably a freezer, some lights and occasionally a drill when threatened with house work. What is the best advice for a distribution board/consumer unit in the shed? I presume a chocolate block and insulation tape are not advisable?

Yes I am in the UK.
I've had different advice on the need for a sparky. I thought that as this is a spur to an existing ring, and not a new ring, I can add sockets myself. Effectively what I am doing is wiring an exceptionally long multiblock. Plug into an outside socket (not fitted by me) and a load of sockets via a consumer unit for safety at the other end.
