1830: Railroads & Robber Barons 1830: Railroads & Robber Barons

Empire Building with Iron Horses and an Iron Will. Based on Avalon Hill's board game of the same name, 1830 is a railroad empire building game that is along the same lines (although a different style of gameplay) as the much more famous RailRoad Tycoon. Capturing the very look and feel of the board game, all the way to the hexagonal playing field and track tokens, 1830 is a turn based game that emphasizes the successful running of a company and manipulating the stock market rather than managing a railroad. Tracks can be laid, cities connected, trains purchased, and schedules set, but the ultimate goal in the end is making money, even at the cost of your company; you'll wind up buying selling a number of them during the coarse of the game anyway

Ultima Underworld II: Labyrinth of Worlds Ultima Underworld II: Labyrinth of Worlds
Sale Price: $109.99

However, in the night of the feast the Guardian attacks again, encasing the castle in a giant gem of blackrock. Deep in the sewers of the castle, another blackrock gem resides, being a teleporter to other worlds controlled by the Guardian. Now you, the Avatar, must travel to these worlds in order to free the castle from the Guardian's spell. This sequel to Ultima Underworld plays exactly as the original, except for a larger game world, a richer storyline and better graphics and sound.

Computer installation

Computer installation is the fundamental step, which flutes life to your dead hardware component. Computer installation may be studied under two categories, the former is the hardware installation and the later as software installation.

Let’s get acquainted with the hardware installation under this article. This will be helpful for making self installation. After going through this article you will be able to perform installation of hard drive along with making partition.

You must consider some basic rule. If you are going to install two hard drives or IDE devices over the same IDE Channel (controller), you need to configure the jumper. They should be set as Master and Slave so that they are able to perform with the same IDE cable. On an average there are two IDE Channels (Primary and Secondary) on one motherboard for a total of four IDE devices allowed per system. Let’s assume, if there is one HD and a CD-ROM integrated then you can assemble two more hard drives. You can also do installation of extra hard drive and IDE backup devices.

Steps for initiating computer installation

STEP 1. Turn off the power and remove all cables from the back of the computer.

STEP 2. Gently remove the case screws and remove the case cover.

STEP 3. Secure the Hard Drive into the mounting bay using appropriated screw.

STEP 4. Analyze the configuration of the computer for the presence of any extra IDE port on your current IDE cable(s). If there is one IDE cable, which is already engaged with two IDE devices then you need to incorporate extra IDE cable in order to facilitate the entry of additional hard drive.

STEP 5. Plug in the new or spare IDE port to the new hard drive.

Note: Always insert Red pin closest to the 4-pin Power.

STEP 6. Insert the P4 Power cable into the new hard drive.

STEP 7. Without making mistake put the case cover back onto the case and secure it with the case screws that were previously removed.

STEP 8. Plug all required cables into the computer and then power up the system.

STEP 9. Explore Computer CMOS and use the Auto IDE Detection feature and then save the changes and exit. This will reboot your computer.

STEP 10. Hence, the hard drive is mounted and connected.

Creating partition is another important step towards computer installation.

STEP 1. After getting the hard disk recognized under BIOS, you will need a Bootable Diskette which must contain Files: Fdisk.exe and Format.com. The diskette you use should be a bootable diskette.

STEP 2. Place the bootable diskette into the 1.44MB floppy drive and turn on the computer.

STEP 3.. Wait for the "A:>" prompt, type DIR and it should show three files, Fdisk.exe, Format.com and Command.com.

STEP 4. Now, a Partition is needed so that DOS and Windows will see the new hard drive. At A:> type Fdisk then press enter.

STEP 5. At the Fdisk Menu, create a new partition and select #1 and press Enter.

STEP 6. Then Select #1 for Primary DOS partition and press Enter. Similarly user can increase number of partition.

STEP 7. Fdisk will ask for the size of the partition various sizes of partitions to a hard drive.

STEP 8. Fdisk will ask the End-user to give desired name, if a name is not desired the press Enter when prompted. Reboot the system.

Above computer installation steps would save your valuable time and money.

i can't get windows to start correctly?

it all starts normally at first until i enter my password. then i get this message "the application or DLL C:windowssystem 32wininet.dll is not a valid windows image. please check this against your installation diskette."After that i only have the choice of closing or clicking ok. either one results in a blue screen with only the background picture.
backing up, the day this happened several things occurred. first, my anti virus program insisted on an update. immediately upon completion it said i had a virus in a win32 file something like vistaj. i tried to find it but couldn't. i did find a bunch of logs that appeared to be duplicates so i deleted most of them - they should still be in the recycle bin i can't get to. also, internet explorer popped up saying it was time to upgrade to 7 - which i did. it rebooted and here i am. puterless. i am running windows xp pro. the pro part doesn't apply to me.
i was trying to find a way in DOS to fix it, but alas my skills are lacking.

When starting your computer, BEFORE the WindowsXP image shows, hit F8 on your keyboard. You'll then need to use your arrow keys to scroll up to 'Safe Mode.' Hit Enter.

Once in Safe Mode, it's going to look different, so don't be alarmed. Just go into your Recycle Bin and RESTORE all the files there. ALL of them. You obviously deleted something you shouldn't. Please be more careful in the future.

This has nothing to do with upgrading to IE7.

If this doesn'r work, feel free to send me a pm.
