What is it that makes dark chocolate a healthy choice? The answer lies in the ingredients of dark chocolates which include more cacao, less sugar and no milk additives. These ingredients are the reason why the expression “plain chocolate” is frequently used to refer to talk about dark chocolates. The latest studies show that eating 1.6-ounce of dark chocolate daily have several health benefits. In fact it may begin to replace eating apples as a way to avoid getting sick! The results show that the flavonoids content of dark chocolates can lower the risks of heart diseases because it promotes blood clotting. That in turn helps increase the blood flow through the heart. Secondly, dark chocolates can help in lower blood pressure and cholesterol. It gives you feelings of greater relaxation and acts as natural anti-depressant. What makes dark chocolate healthy? Basically it is the natural components of dark chocolate which comes from the plant seeds of cacao. These components carry the same benefits you get from eating fruits and vegetables. Additionally, dark chocolates are healthy to eat is because their ingredient mix is different from the regular commercial chocolates. High quality gourmet chocolates include dark chocolates which are made with cacao and mixed with less milk, less sugar, and nougats or caramel as found in several popular chocolate bars. On top of this, the dark chocolate substance called flavonoids is believed to have more antioxidants than those found in other fruits such as strawberries. In Star Wars, did Palpatine let Mace Windu get the upper hand in order to convert Anakin to the dark side?
Remember that scene where Mace Windu confronts Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith? Well my question is did Palpatine set it up in order for Anakin to see and convert him to the Dark Side? Or did Anakin just happen to enter at the right(or wrong) time?
My class has been having this argument for quite some time now.
I have to disagree with "Simon T" completely. I don't think he's looking at the bigger picture of what was really going on in that scene.
First of all Sith Lords don't care at all about their appearance, looking back through all the Sith Lords that came after Darth Bane shows that 100% because there were some really "ugly" Sith Lords in that 1000 year time period, all they care about is power.
You have to remember that, from the moment that Palpatine learned of Anakin, the seduction of Anakin Skywalker to the dark side was one of the biggest parts of his overall plan to destroy the Jedi Order and take control of the galaxy. From the very beginning Palpatine used their "friendship" as a way to very slowly corrupt Anakin's ideas of right and wrong and to keep tweaking Anakin's natural dark side leanings.
Think about that fight for a minute. Four Jedi Masters attempted to "arrest" Palpatine. All of them were very powerful and very skilled in lightsabre form ... granted Mace was the most powerful of them and a much, much better swordsman. In the opening 30 seconds of that fight Palpatine took out 3 of them without any trouble at all. That begs the question of why Palpatine didn't do the same with Mace. A toe to toe all out fight between the two of them would have been awesome to see but that is not what happened in the movie. Palptine sensed Anakin coming to the "scene of the crime" and basically dialed down his attacks on Mace with the intention of making himself look "weak" and in need of saving by Anakin. The Sith Lightning attack on Mace surely would have weakened him but not to the level that would have be thought of as "all out". Being "disfigured" by the backlash of the Lightning was another part of the "please don't hurt me ... I'm helpless before you" crap that he was saying. Palpatine knew that either Mace would kill him and all his hard work and planning would have been for naught ... or ... Anakin would "save" him and bring all that hard work and planning to his desired result.
There is one concrete thing that shows that Palpatine's supposed weakness was nothing more than a ploy. If he was so weak and helpless how could he change that in an instant and blast Mace out the window after Anakin cut his arm off. The answer is that he wasn't but he needed Anakin to believe that he was because so he would take that final step to the dark side by basically helping Palpatine defeat Mace.
In short ... yes ... Palpatine "threw" the fight to use it as a final step to Anakin's sedution to the dark side.
May The Force Be With You ...
EDIT: "Assuming & guessing" ? Which parts ? If you follow all the stuff going on in all 3 of the prequel movies all of this stuff is plainly obvious except for the part about Sith Lords not caring about their appearance but that can be seen pretty easy if you read the books like the Darth Bane trilogy and such. "Assume" & "Guess" is something I rarely do when it comes to SW unless it is some part of the story that actually hasn't been told yet. Read the novel version of ep III and you'll see all of the stuff about the fight between Palpatine & Mace ... it also sheds a ton of light on why Yoda walked away from his fight with Palpatine also
