"Crying Demons," along with its companion volume, "I Am Lucifer" (DEC-17) is one of the most disturbing and enigmatic recorded documents of all time. Acknowledged as one of the great charismatic healer/exorcists of the centuty, A.A. Allen and his Miracle Revival Ministries media empire included syndicated radio and television shows, books, records, and, or course, touring tent revival meetings. Once available for a $3 donation at Reverend A.A. Allen's camp meetings, nearly all original copies of this holy grail album of "actual" exorcisms were burned in a mysterious warehouse fire at his Miracle Valley, Arizona compound. According to the original LP liner notes, "Crying Demons" is "one of the most amazing recordings of demons speaking through people who are possessed by them. Recorded in an actual service where A.A. Allen is actually casting out demons and these demons are talking and saying, 'I will not come out; you cannot cast me out!' Convinces the worst skeptic that demons are not only real but that God has given His servant power over them. Proves demons are real today." Whether or not you believe that the voices issuing from the possessed are truly agents of Satan is immaterial; whatever the scenario, they are spine-chillingly eerie. There is definitely something very strange and sinister going on in these recordings. The things these "demons" say could just as easily come from the depths of subconscious or some French surrealist's opiated freak-out. Allen's ministry carried on for many years after he was felled by the demon of alcohol in 1970, and his figure still looms largein the Pentecostal pantheon. Both of these ultra-exclusive reissues are augments with material from other Miracle Revival recordings and Allen's "Miracles Today" TV show.
