"Take that" can be considered a boy band. It all began when Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams and Mark Owen met and formed the band called "Cutest Rush". They were all teenagers when they first met, and together they developed into the rock group "Take That" in 1990.
The group consisted of Gerry Barlow, Jason Orange, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Robbie Williams. Robbie Williams left the group in 1995 after beginning to hang out with members of the group "Oasis" who were known to be heavy partiers. In 1996 the rest of the group disbanded. This was a blowing crash to the fans, who adored them. Robbie Williams, Mark Owen and Gary Barlow went on to enjoy some success as solo singers. The group joined again, without Robbie Williams for a reunion tour in 2006 which was a smashing success. Take That then recorded another album after the tour was complete.
Robbie Williams was born on February 13, 1974 in Staffordshire England. He has made himself very popular in England, Australia and Europe, but has never reached that measure of success in the United States. He has performed what has been considered the largest rock concert ever done in the UK in August 2003, where he performed over three nights for 375,000 adoring fans at Knebworth Park. His other band mate Gary Barlow went on to see some success as well. He was born on January 20, 1971 in Cheshire England. As a solo singer after he left Take That, he went on to make five top forty singles in the UK and to number one singles in the late 1990s. With both Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams performing solo, there arose a competition between the two and Gary Barlow went back to producing and songwriting. He is currently married with three children. Mark Owen was born on January 27, 1972 in Oldham England. He had a few successful singles in England as a solo artist, and has continued to release albums that have not been big successes.
Take That was considered one of the major influential pop groups of their time. They reinforced this when they did their reunion tour in 2006, and release their new album in 2007 which included two months singles that both reached number one on the charts. They were, in fact, credited with being one of the most popular pop bands in history. They had a fan base that was second to non. Today they continue to pull surprises out of the hat as their latest United Kingdom tour became the fastest-selling UK tour in history. A total of 350,000 available tickets were bought and booked in only one hour for the Take That tour, as Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Howard Donald and Mark Owen also take in Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester and Wembley in London, in June and July 2009.
Its still possible to seek out a ticket here. The UK is certainly the place to be for the last part of 2008 and most of 2009 with great performances from the likes of The Pussycat Dolls, Pink, Oasis, Take That, Boyzone, The Killers and countless others.
