In-car entertainment, especially an audio system, is one of the most customized components in an automobile. Many aficionados opt to replace their stock in-car audio system to add and improve functionality as well as enhance the sound quality for a superb audio experience inside the vehicle. Today, customizing car stereo systems has become a big business. Most enthusiasts want to build an excellent car audio system regardless of the cost. Customizing car stereos can be a very expensive project, but for those who value good acoustics, it is worth every penny.
When customizing a car audio system, the first component you should purchase is the head unit or the deck. The head unit is the main control center of the entire audio system, which usually includes a tuner, CD player, cassette player or a combination of these. Usually, the replacement head unit will not fit into the space where the existing unit rests, so you may have to buy a universal mounting kit. A universal wiring harness is also necessary to ensure easy installation.
Then you need to determine the kind of speakers you want. There are numerous types of speakers you can choose from, making it a bit difficult to make a decision. Be aware of how many speakers your head unit can handle. Two important things to check when buying speakers are power rating and size. Some owners prefer to put speakers in the trunk space.
Another important device in audio systems is the amplifier, which significantly improves the quality of the high volume sound of your system. The amp comes in a variety of sizes and capacities. Choose your amplifier depending on how much power you want for your sound system. Other accessories you can purchase include MP3 integration adapters, multiple CD changers, and bass boosters.
All these devices are available from audio equipment retailers. How much you spend depends on the brand and the quality of the equipment. When it comes to installation, it is better if you get the assistance of a professional to ensure that your custom car stereo is mounted and wired properly for best performance.

Function of Head Unit Accessories
Electronic products are inevitable one to human life. It directly interfaces with the human life daily. Most of electronic items are available in a cheaper rate compare other system of products. Head unit is also a type of electronic component, which is nothing but the stereo system. It should be installed in car, heavy vehicle or in home theatre. It is a kind of media system is used to enhance the quality of the sound. Each head unit has a receiver end and transmitter end. Receiver end is used for getting signal for the radio from the environment. The efficiency of receiver is very vital for the radio sound quality. If receiver efficiency is very less then signal captured by the signal should be very weak. To strengthen the signal we need to go for various operations like filtering, amplification and isolation etc.
Main head unit accessories:
If receiving signal is too weak then the signal must be boosted with the help of amplification. An amplifier is used to done the amplification operation. Filters are used to reduce the unwanted sound or noise. Some of the main head unit accessories are very essential for the normal human life.
1. AM/FM radio: it is very common and known to all, but the quality of the sound emerged from the system should be different from radio to radio. The amplitude modulation is different from the frequency modulation radio. Usually most of the people usuing a frequency moduclation technique. the frequency is lies in the range between 87.5 to 108MHz.
2. remote control: remote control is used to control the full audio system employed in the car. due to modern technologies various sophisticated remote controllers are arrived in the market for decent prices. Even a display remote with touch screen is also available. So people can easily interface with the audio system while driving.
3. CDs: providing a compact disc unit in the head unit is older technique, DVDs replace the compact disc concept. More space and higher quality easily replaces the CDs in the market.
4. Cassette tapes: This is one of the very old audio technique. This technique is completely not in use.
5. GPS: The global posiotioning system is used to find out the signal position with the help of time differnce technique. The time differnce between the signal received and signal transmitted should be find out first and then using that data the position of the transmitting signal is easily found with the help of gps technology.
6. Bluetooth: the most important and modern technolgy in the electronic field is bluetooth technolgy. It is used for transmitting the data form one system to another system in particulat distance. The distance between the system should be optimum otherwise bluetooth technogy is useless. The optimum diustance for the bluetooth technolgy is 8 to 20 meters.
These are considered as the top head unit accessories which is used in the normal car. the precise control of music should rely up on these accessories. Satisfied level of quality sound should be reached with the help of these accessories. Short? Bad Amp? Faulty Head Unit? What would you do?
My 1988 Olds 98 has an original head unit (radio/cassette), which I really like. The car has OEM speakers, and I decided to replace the dash speakers since I heard lots of cracking and distortion as the volume level increased. I ordered the dash speakers and decided to check the rear. The right rear speaker also distorts at higher volumes. But it does not seem to be the speaker after all. I exchanged the rear speakers -- you guessed it -- the right side has distortion no matter what speaker is connected. So ... I can have a professional re-wire the system or pull the head unit to repair a faulty amp or buy a new amp and have it installed --- or I can listen to the unit with my new front speakers and one 6x9 in the back and hope it sounds okay. I was never trying to get lots of "bump" or noise -- just a solid sound. And I use the radio 99% of the time. What would you do? Replace the head unit , repair the system (either wiring or amps), or use as is? Thanks!
I would say it is a head unti problem too. The TAPE player is 20 years old! I would just buy a new CD player.
Three-wheeler menace
The authorities should take steps to minimise the number of three-wheeler parking places and allow other normal road users to park their vehicles without any objections of the three-wheeler owners.
Thanks for visiting!
