Sacred Treasures III: Choral Masterworks from Russia and Beyond

What could be more sublime than a wall of dark, rotund Russian voices shimmering against the rising, ornate walls of a great cathedral? Not much, and this compilation of absolutely magnificent music proves it. The label Hearts of Space returns on this third choral collection to the ominous Slavic chant of their first choral album, Sacred Treasures I, which gathered together recordings of stunning Bulgarian and Russian choirs portraying the sacred works of Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, and other composers. Whereas Treasures I pulled from varied sections of sacred liturgies, including solo passages, Treasures III most often stays in harmonic chant with select voices occasionally rising and rolling in polyphonic heavenly calls. The collective voice draws the emotive tension taut here, as on Rimsky-Korsakov's "Our Father," which uses the absence of darkness to later juxtapose bold, rising drama. The Kiev chant "Blessed Art Thou O Lord" sends chills down the spine as the whispering consonants of the Russian language skip across the ancient repetition like sand skitters over a stormy beach. This is a collection as breathtakingly beautiful as the Cathedral of the Dormition itself. Not to be missed. --Karen K. Hugg

Will & Grace - Season One [VHS]
List Price: $44.98

Will & Grace debuted with a controversial splash because one of its two lead characters is gay--but smart writing and topnotch performances, not politics, have made the show a hit. Two neurotic and sharp-tongued urbanites--gay lawyer Will (Eric McCormack) and straight interior designer Grace (Debra Messing)--delight in their volatile but enduring friendship as they share a sumptuous New York apartment. Sweeping into the mix are Will's unapologetically queeny friend Jack (Sean Hayes) and Grace's wildly eccentric assistant Karen (Megan Mullally). Much like Seinfeld, the humor on Will & Grace springs from self-obsession, petty jealousy, and compulsive interfering in each other's lives--basically, the building blocks of human nature. The show's writers apparently feel compelled to keep the lead characters warm and likeable in the usual sitcom mode (which hardly seems necessary, as McCormack and Messing are naturally engaging). As a result, it's Jack and Karen who get free reign to be truly obnoxious and ridiculous--which, of course, makes them incredibly funny and charismatic. Hayes and Mullally rise to the occasion, ripping through absurd situations and arias of narcissistic wit with dazzling panache. Will & Grace's plots routinely center around scenarios that could feature a married couple or two same-sex roommates: Will and Grace bicker over buying a dog, find their relationship tested by apartment renovations, or discover they're both pursuing the same guy--standard sitcom material that the gay factor gives a clever spin. Though their relationship gets in the way of their sex lives, the two take so much pleasure in each other's company that they can't help but stick together--a surprisingly chaste theme for such a culturally groundbreaking show, but one that Will & Grace's addicted audience undoubtedly appreciates. --Bret Fetzer

The Social Network (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)

They all laughed at college nerd Mark Zuckerberg, whose idea for a social-networking site made him a billionaire. And they all laughed at the idea of a Facebook movie--except writer Aaron Sorkin and director David Fincher, merely two of the more extravagantly talented filmmakers around. Sorkin and Fincher's breathless picture, The Social Network, is a fast and witty creation myth about how Facebook grew from Zuckerberg's insecure geek-at-Harvard days into a phenomenon with 500 million users. Sorkin frames the movie around two lawsuits aimed at the lofty but brilliant Zuckerberg (deftly played by Adventureland's Jesse Eisenberg): a claim that he stole the idea from Ivy League classmates, and a suit by his original, now slighted, business partner (Andrew Garfield). The movie follows a familiar rise-and-fall pattern, with temptation in the form of a sunny California Beelzebub (an expert Justin Timberlake as former Napster founder Sean Parker) and an increasingly tangled legal mess. Emphasizing the legal morass gives Sorkin and Fincher a chance to explore how unsocial this social-networking business can be, although the irony seems a little facile. More damagingly, the film steers away from the prickly figure of Zuckerberg in the latter stages--and yet Zuckerberg presents the most intriguing personality in the movie, even if the movie takes pains to make us understand his shortcomings. Fincher's command of pacing and his eye for the clean spaces of Aughts-era America are bracing, and he can't resist the technical trickery involved in turning actor Armie Hammer into privileged Harvard twins (Hammer is letter-perfect). Even with its flaws, The Social Network is a galloping piece of entertainment, a smart ride with smart people⦠who sometimes do dumb things. --Robert Horton
David Fincher directs this insightful tale, based on Ben Mezrich's book "The Accidental Billionaires," about the personal and legal dealings of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Jesse Eisenberg plays the frustrated young Zuckerberg, who as a Harvard undergrad created an online social network that revolutionized communication but in the process encountered numerous problems that may have cost him what he valued most. Justin Timberlake and Andrew Garfield co-star. 120 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, French Dolby Digital 5.1, DVS Dolby Digital Surround; Subtitles: English (SDH), French, Spanish; audio commentary; featurettes; "making of" documentary; more. Two-disc set.

There's More Than One Way to Work From Home
It used to be that to work from home meant that you had a home office and worked for someone else. Maybe someone started a home business that took off and they were able to work from home or be home based. Let's look at two common ways you can work from home.
1. Telecommute
There is no doubt this is one of, if not the fastest growing segment of people who work from home. They do it for the convenience both of the employer or many times out of necessity. Many different profession telecommute to work everyday. Sales people can call on their customers via the internet every morning and follow up by phone without ever leaving their driveway.
Customer service reps can answer the phone at home just as easy as they can driving into an office. Other types of work from home jobs if you will include website designers, freelance writers, and others. If you are not working for someone you can still telecommute and in many cases work for yourself doing it. TJobs.com is an excellent website full of companies looking for full time employees and contract workers as well.
2. Starting a home business or home based business has never been easier than it is today. This is a great way to work from home and be your own boss. Depending on the type of work you do you can make a great living and be in charge of your time and your future.
The internet is really creating millionaires and people who pay all of their bills with money left over every month. Today you just need something to sell, a blog to sell it on, and a few advertising and marketing skills to get traffic to your blog. If you can type you can tell your story to the world via a blog.
Blogs are replacing websites as an easy way to sell products and do it working at home on your own computer. If you do not have a product of your own you can sell other peoples products as an affiliate marketer. Most companies will let you join them as an affiliate for free and take care of everything like shipping and collecting the money for you.
This is just two ideas on how you can work from home. If you are a self starter and the type of person who can work unsupervised working from home may be for you. It all comes down to finding the best way that you enjoy!

mother board no signal in case works fine out of case stop error comes up when I load OS what do i do now?
pci.systems-address f75760bf base at f756f000 datestamp 3b7df000
I think the hard drive is the problem 120gb western recon I bought at flee mkt the case is an old e machine case all the parts are new. mb pc chips g29 with 366celleron and 1 gig mem cmos checks out. Signal out not happening when its mounted in the case...help now what thinking I need a better case too
There are a couple of reasons that this may happen. First thing would be to get a dos based start disk with a utility to check the hard drive. You state that the drive is a western recon, Is it possible that you meant western digital. Go to their web site @www.wdc.com and download the data life guard utility to test the drive. The second cause may be due to a cd or dvd drive issue. I have seen the blue screen of death during a windows install if the cd is scratched and it can't send the info to be written to the hard drive. If you have another version of windows then I would give that a try as well.
