Most Popular Micr Printers
MICR printer is probably one of the most unpopular, yet one of the most used among printers. Usually used to print checks in banks, a magnetic printer ink character recognition check printer or MICR printer is designed with a special printer ink and character that can only be read through a special hi-speed scanner, which then translates the magnetic content to understandable information through the use of a printer ink or toner composed of iron oxide.
Before we browse through the most recognized MICR printers in the market, let us first skim through the different advantages and disadvantages of MICR technology.
Advantages of Using MICR
Using a MICR printer has a lot of advantages. Here are some of them:
1. Security- MICR check printer provides optimum security against check fraud in banks. MICR technology was primarily made for money authentication purposes. Play or fake money doesn't make use of it and thus when scanned through MICR scanners will not show any bar codes of sorts.
2. Invisibility- MICR printers can be used for top secret and underground transactions to hide messages. Through this kind of printer, correspondences can now be invisible.
3. Omniscience- MICR technology allows you to have control over your printing. If an error occurs, you can see it immediately on a screen and therefore be able to correct it. You may see mistakes in the name, amount and printer line placement even if you're not present when the printing occurs. Moreover, you can also be forewarned if there has been a low printer ink cartridge already or a failure that may possibly tamper the printing process.
4. Omnipresence- You can also print from different remote units on one central computer unit, thereby, saving you time and effort.
Disadvantages of Using MICR
While MICR technology has various advantages, using it may also pave way to some setbacks.
1. Character Restrictions- MICR printers only use a limited type of characters. It particularly prints numbers from 0 to 9 and four non-alphanumeric characters. Plus it only uses one single font.
2. Expensive- as of 2010, one toner cartridge for one MICR printer will cost you about $600.
In conclusion, MICR technology has evidently more advantages than disadvantages, thereby making it worth a shot to buy one. Now, let's see which MICR printer can very well satisfy our specific need among the most popular MICR printers available in the market.
HP P1006 MICR Laser Printer
HP P1006 MICR Laser Printer is an ultra-compact easy-to-use device that has a sleek and edgy look to it. The following are its specifications:
- two 100 sheet output holders
- a whopping three cancel buttons that allows you to quickly stop printing
- one door for printer cartridges
- five power touch-screen buttons
- six 10 sheet input trays
- eight USB (2.0) ports
HP P3015 MICR Laser Printer
HP P3015 MICR Laser Printer is a MICR printer fit for office use. Here are its first-rate features:
- prints 40 pages per minute
- has a standard memory of 96 MB
- two standard paper trays
- has duplex printing options
- has 4 USB ports
- capable of wireless printing
- compatible with all system programs
- has one-year warranty
In conclusion, MICR printers are still gradually gaining popularity and recognition in the world of printers. The two disadvantages it has can be causing its delay to success, but can definitely not prevent it, as its advantages are far more rewarding. One day we may be surprised when a company suddenly produces a low-priced MICR printer.
HP is the most popular MICR printer producer to date, making HP P1006 MICR Laser Printer and HP P3015 MICR Laser Printer a complete success. HP will probably be producing more, but other brands are also expected to spawn the said technology.

how to pull out "Stop Tube" of shower faucet ( Moen 1225 cartridge)?
My bathroom faucet ( shower) is leaking. I opened the cover plate but I can not pull out the central cartridge no matter how hard I tried because I think it is locked by cartridge retaining clip (U) which is attached to inside "Stop Tube". This "Stop Tube" is fixed and I have to no way to remove it. (last time a plumer used Moen-Magnum replacement cartridge 1225)
I’m wondering if anyone knows how to pull out the cartridge in this situation. Please help and really appreciated.
Thanks!
E. F.
Check out these sites I think they will help. Hope it helps.
Printing matters
Many years ago, when my cousin told me he had a Bubble jet, I thought he was a proud owner of a toy gun that made huge bubbles in rapidfire speed.
