Does anyone know of an "off the self" computer generated calligraphy plotter system?
If one looks up calligraphy services on the net "machine calligraphy" is an option one runs across. While many of these services are based on calligraphy fonts and a laser printer, some are based on a modified pen-plotter system, where the computer literally moves the a nibbed pen in the same way that a human calligrapher would.
Can anyone name and point out creators/manufacturers of such a plotter system and software, or are most/all of these systems home creations of the companies that provide such services?
I hadn't heard of this or thought about it before your question, but it seems like it would be fairly easy to create a simple adapted plotter with a secondary actuation that alters the angle and direction and pressure of the pen in the third and fourth dimensions in the same way it handles 2 dimensions in simple plots.
