It had to happen: A national tour of redneck comedians culminating in this frequently funny concert film, shot in Phoenix. Ron White's scotch-and-tobacco-fueled, fatalistic world view gets things off to a good start. ("That last engine had just enough power to get us to our crash site.") Larry the Cable Guy's creepy-silly persona helps deliver a set long on gross-out humor. ("I've been seein' a good-lookin' girl. But now I lost my binoculars.") Bill Engvall balances the tone with his family-man shtick. ("There needs to be a teenage driver's lane lined with tires and mattresses.") Main event champ Jeff Foxworthy offers fresh material about the act of ice-fishing as an out-of-body experience for fish, describes the bizarre sight of a leaf blower among items confiscated by airport security and, of course, renders his trademark re-re-re-definitions of what constitutes a redneck ("a glorious absence of sophistication"). Lots to enjoy here. --Tom Keogh
A feature film version of America's hit comedy concert tour, Blue Collar Comedy Tour The Movie stars renowned comedians Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall and fellow Blue Collar comics Ron White and Larry The Cable Guy. The film features live stand-up performances filmed at Phoenix's Dodge Theater as well as behind-the-scenes sequences highlighting the individual comedians. The number one comedy tour of the last two years, The Blue Collar Comedy Tour has grossed more than $12 million to date and produced a best-selling live album, The Blue Collar Comedy Tour Live, released in November 2001.

The redneck quartet from the original Blue Collar Comedy Tour re-groups for another night of laughs, with (mostly) fresh material performed for an upbeat audience. A funny, clubby preface on a tour bus establishes a tone of lowbrow camaraderie among Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, Ron White, and Bill Engvall, but once on stage, the differences between each comic's style is considerable. Amiable Engvall kicks things off with gentle gibes: "Men are basic: eating, sleeping, sex. I can do all those in my truck." The decadent air of Ron White darkens the show: "If I'd known the difference between 'antidote' and 'anecdote,' my friend would still be alive today." Foxworthy, the likable Everyman, comments on his wife's hypochondria: "Honey, you do not have testicular cancer." Finally, Larry the Cable Guy lowers the bar on sick-hick humor but does score occasionally: "I got a vasectomy at Sears. When I get excited, the garage door opens." --Tom Keogh

American Experience: The Great Transatlantic Cable
|
|
|
This program tells the story behind the laying of the transatlantic cable. The physical challenges to laying the cable were enormous. The project would require the production of a 2,000 mile long cable that would have to be laid three miles beneath the Atlantic. Cyrus Field, an energetic young New Yorker wasn't deterred, and since its completion in 1866, nothing has broken his communications link with Europe-not storms, earthquakes or war.

VisiKey English Large Print Computer Keyboard Wired USB Cable (Black Background with White Letters with Best Visual Contrast) for Low Vision Seniors or Visually Impaired Individuals
Sale Price: $32.95

Visikey Enhanced Visibility Keyboard - Large Letter Keyboard The Visikey Enhanced Visibility Keyboard is a large imprint keyboard that reduces eye strain and may even eliminate some users need for corrective lenses when using their computer*. It is especially effective for those with low vision. The patent pending Visikey Enhanced Visibility Keyboard is easier to see because it is almost 4 times larger than a conventional keyboards lettering. Also, our high contrast (white on black) lettering is generally easier for most people to distinguish at a glance. Chances are that you are like millions of other Americans that use a computer on a daily basis. Most of these people when asked will tell you that they often feel "eye strain" during computer use. Even touch typists will tell you that they often look at their keyboards for seldom used functions or characters. Most of this eye strain is caused by the computer monitor. However, some is caused by looking at the small font, and poor contrast of their current computer keyboard. Even a quick glance at the Visikey Enhanced Visibility Keyboard will make you notice its main feature. The letters, numbers, and symbols on the keys are bright white and they are much bigger and more visible than those on regular computer keyboards. In fact the letters are 430% larger than the letters on a standard keyboard. The patent pending enhanced visibility lettering system gets a rating 20/300 on the Snelling visual acuity scale. Compare that to most standard keyboards which are rated 20/70, and you can get a feel for the visual ease that the keyboard provides. The Visikey Enhanced Visibility Keyboard is a well-designed 104 key model. It also has 15 useful hot keys. The top of keyboard has media center controls for playing, pausing, muting, etc. when working with music and video files with your media player. A separate area next to the media center has Internet keys that give one touch e-mail, web search, browsing, and surfing.

Component Video Cables, computer cables, Network Cables and fiber cables Designed for different applications on worldofcables
Composite RCA is the most basic video signal. All the picture information is combined and sent over a single wire. The equipment at one end combines all the picture elements sends them over the wire, and then the receiving equipment separates them at the other end. Any changes to the video signal affect the whole and does not allow for adjustment of the individual elements. Also, clarity is often lost in the coding/decoding process.

Any changes to the video signal affect the whole and does not allow for adjustment of the individual elements. Also, clarity is often lost in the coding/decoding process.
S-Video is a step up from Composite RCA. S-Video takes the picture and separates it into two separate components; the Chrominance component (also called C), which is the color information and the Luminance (also called Y), which is the level of brightness, or rather the levels of black and white in the picture. This is why S-Video is sometimes called Y/C Video. The separation of the picture information allows the signals to be sent without coding/decoding, so there is no loss of clarity. Also, the separate signals are isolated from each other so change to one does not affect the other, which allows for a greater degree of control.
The next step up is Component Video. Component Video is the best way to connect your equipment. It takes the separation idea even further, by separating the picture into three component signals; two different color signals, and the “black-n-white” signal. The further separation of the color signal allows for better resolution and color saturation. Of the three, Component video is the only one with enough bandwidth to handle high-definition information, so it is mostly found on HDTV equipment and DVD players. Component video is often labeled Y/Pb/Pr.
Fiber cables are the cables containing thousands of fiber in a single cable. These cables are used as Monitor Cables, Network Cable, and Telephone Cables. The optical network of fiber cables easily accommodate in today’s demand for bandwidth on a point-to-point basis. However sometimes unused point-to-point potential bandwidth does not translate to operating profits, and it is estimated that no more than 1% of the optical fiber buried in recent years is actually 'lit'

Is it possible to buy the white cable leads for a Virgin Media box?
I need a longer connection cable, I've moved my VirginMedia box to another place in my living room and now the cable doesn't reach. I phoned Virgin customer services and was told I could only get the leads and connection cables directly from Virgin and I would have to pay a £75 installation charge.
Obviously I'm not going to pay them £75 just to move my box a few inches, so I was wondering does anywhere sell the connection leads and cables so I could just do it myself?
They use basic cables that could be purchased from a hardware store.
Maybe go to B&Q or Homebase and just ask them for some of this cable.
You will need to have the connectors put on the ends and this uses a simple tool which electricians should have. They could probably put this on the ends for you.
