From mosquito devices that run on propane all the way to those that operate with surges of electricity, the development of devices for mosquito control remains a competitive industry. The most popular mosquito killing machines are mosquito vacs, mosquito zappers, and mosquito magnets. Based on the need and the severity of of the mosquito problem some mosquito killing devices are preferred over others.
Most customers find satisfaction from using mosquito vacs. Mosquito vacs (vacuums) are more expensive than other methods of insect control, but they get the job done. Many customers enjoy the fact that mosquito vacs catch a considerable amount of insects and last year-round; unlike their counterpart the mosquito magnet. On the bright side mosquito magnets have been praised for their ability to catch a boat load of insects. On the unfortunately dark and gloomy side they have been given low marks due to their short life expectancy. Not in all cases, but in many, people say that mosquito magnets work amazingly well for about a year then they abruptly shutdown. In terms of high ratings bug zappers fall smack dab in the middle. Based on customer satisfaction the bug zapper comes in second.
The safest and most effective method is the mosquito vac. A recent uproar about bug zappers claims that zapping a disease carrying mosquito could worsen the problem, by dispersing thousands of disease causing microbes into the ecosystem. Mosquito vacs on the other hand avoid the potential for this problem by catching the little critters in a concealed location and dehydrating them. The hottest mosquito vac on the market is the skeeter vac, which has been given 5 stars by its customers. The Flowtron company trying to stay on top of everything, has developed a propane free mosquito vac. While the mosquito magnet itself may be safer than the bug zapper, its capabilities do not stick around long enough to put the bug zapper out of business. Bug zappers are continuously being redesigned in terms of safety. The best one in this regard is the Flowtron Bug Zapper for outdoors. Customers have found favor with the Stinger Insect Trap for indoors.
So there you have it. First to cross the finish line is the mosquito vac. Bug zappers take the silver. And bronze goes to the mosquito magnet.

Introducing the Xyron Create-A-Sticker Machines
Xyron is a well-known name in the crafting and laminating arenas, thanks to its revolutionary products like the Wishblade die cutting system and their creative station laminators. The company has also produced other great crafting products including their Create-A-Sticker line of machines. These small machines make it possible to create your very own stickers for use in scrapbooks, photo albums, and so on. There are currently three Create-A-Sticker units on the market and this article will talk about each one so you can decide if you want to use one the next time you catch the crafting bug.
Xyron Create-A-Sticker 150
This is Xyron's smallest sticker maker. It is capable of making stickers that are up to 1.5 inches wide, so it is great if you want to turn clip art, small photos, and other tiny items into stickers for your craft projects and scrapbooks. The Create-A-Sticker 150 comes with an acid-free strip of adhesive measuring 20 feet long, so you can quickly and easily create a lot of stickers in no time at all without making a mess. This little machine is portable and you don't need any type of power to use it. Plus, it's available in two colors: pink and purple. The little girl inside of you will love it. (Or your real little girl will!)
Xyron Create-A-Sticker 250
If you want to make stickers that are wider than 1.5 inches, then check out the Create-A-Sticker 250. With this gadget, you can create stickers that are a full inch wider, plus you'll have the ability to make both repositionable and permanent stickers depending on which type of acid-free adhesive you use. The Create-A-Sticker 250 is easy to use and it doesn't utilize batteries or electricity, so it's one of the safest, most user-friendly crafting products around. It'd be a good item to use if you want to spend some quality bonding time with your artistic, crafty kid.
Xyron Create-A-Sticker 500
This is the machine to get if you're really, really, really into making stickers. Like the Create-A-Sticker 250, you can create both permanent and movable stickers with this machine, but they can be a lot bigger, up to five inches wide, so you can take just about anything you want and turn it into a sticker. As with the other Create-A-Sticker products, this gadget doesn't use electricity, it utilizes acid-free glue, and it is easy to use. It's also purple, so it will appeal to kids of all ages. (Even the adult ones.)
All of the Create-A-Sticker machines come with a roll of adhesive, plus an idea book so you can get some inspiration for your next crafting endeavor. These sticker makers are all very affordable (under $30.00), so even in these rough economic times, it's possible to create something new and exciting even if your budget is on the thin side. Is anyone going to see Florence & The Machine in London - 13/12/09? Have you received your tickets yet?
I haven't got mine and it's bugging me! :S
I haven't received mine yet. I ordered through See Tickets, and my ticket status online is showing as "we are currently despatching all tickets for the show", and they are being sent by special delivery.
I know in the past when they have despatched the tickets they update the status online.
I rang them up and they couldn't tell me when the tickets are being sent out, but the lady on the other side took a guess and said probably next Monday (7th).
From my experience, gig tickets from See usually are sent like 2-3 weeks before the concert... this time they're being a bit slow, I wonder why.
