Question about bots?
I just noticed today that there are alot of new bots on AIM now. Last time I looked it was only Moviefone and ShoppingBuddy. NOW there's Moviefone, ShoppingBuddy and they added Prof Gitzot, sahrethisdotcom, spleak, and WSJ. What are they all for, what do they do, and how do you use them? I know what Moviefone is and how it works. I assumed shoppingbuddy has something to do with shopping but what exactly?
I know the bots are there for you to ask them questions about stuff. However, looking at the names "Moviefone" or "shopping buddy" are obvious as to what they are for. The others aren't as simple.
It's not a big deal or important, I'm just realy curious as to what they're for.
(I realize I put this under YAHOO messenger but there isn't an AIM catagory and I was hoping this would work)

I don't know, it's just that people developed the bots to pull in more downloads. Besides, if you think the AOL ones are bad the Windows Live Messenger bots are even worse. You try talking to them and they make a dumb response. A REALLY dumb response. Start harassing one and you'll see what I mean... For those of you that are going to reply my question with things like "Windows Live Messenger is the best", I believe that Microsoft is VERY VERY evil. They distribute their obviously inferior software to other cheap computer companies just to rake in profits. No wonder I use a Mac and still use it now...
