The Kidde KN-COSM-B Battery-Operated Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Alarm combines two important safety devices into a single unit. This alarm includes a voice warning system that announces "Fire, Carbon Monoxide, Low Battery, or Smart Hush Activation." The voice alarm eliminates any confusion and clearly warns you and your family of a smoke or carbon monoxide danger, or if your battery is in need of replacement. This unit uses three AA batteries, protecting you and your family even during a power outage. This alarm uses ionization sensing technology for the smoke alarm. Ionization sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. Photoelectric sensing alarms may detect visible particles (associated with smoldering fires) sooner than ionization alarms. Kidde strongly recommends that both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to help insure maximum detection of the various types of fire that can occur within the home.Kidde KN-COSM-B Battery-Operated Combination Smoke and CO AlarmEmploys both smoke and carbon monoxide sensors.Stand-alone battery operated alarm is easy to install throughout the home, as no wiring is needed.Features a hush button to silence the alarm for non-emergency situations like a smoky dinner.Voice alarm eliminates confusion and clearly warns of smoke/CO danger or low battery.Protects from two different hazards, smoke and carbon monoxide and has a different voice warning for each hazard. Because this alarm only helps protect you if it's working, this unit features a red LED that flashes every 30 to 40 seconds to indicate that it is operating correctly. For additional peace of mind, the alarm also contains a test/reset button that enables you to periodically test its circuitry and horn.If any form of battery failure is detected the red LED light will flash and the unit will "chirp" one time, followed by the warning message "Low Battery." This cycle will occur once every minute, and will continue for at least seven days.Seven (7) years after initial power up, this unit will "chirp" every 30 seconds. This is an "operational end of life" feature which will indicate that it is time to replace the alarm. UL 2034, the independent standard applicable to CO alarms, requires CO alarms to have an end of life warning. This requirement went into effect in March 2007, meaning any CO alarm manufactured after April 2007 with a UL listing must have this feature. Most states that require CO alarms in residential dwellings mandate that the alarm meet the UL 2034 standard. The unit measures just 5.75 inches in diameter and 1.7 inches deep, and it features a neutral, white finish. It includes tamper resist features to deter vandalism or theft. This combination smoke/CO alarm is UL listed, so you can be confident of its quality, and it is backed by a 5-year limited warranty.About Kidde: A UTC Fire & Security BrandRenowned for global leadership in fire detection and suppression, Kidde provides solutions ranging from portable fire extinguishers to advanced industrial controls such as flame detection and explosion suppression systems. Inter-connectable for Improved Safety Fire and consumer experts recommend interconnected alarms for added protection. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), most Americans feel they are more at risk of being a victim of a tornado than of a house fire. Actually the opposite is true. Fires are more common than any other disaster that strikes a family at home, and can become deadly in minutes. You have on average less than three minutes from the time you hear a smoke alarm to escape a fire. The sooner you hear an alarm, the sooner you can get out safely. Smoke alarms that link together so that when one goes off, they all go off, are called interconnected alarms. These alarms provide more warnings in more places, giving your family more time to escape a house fire. Houses built after 1993 are required by building codes to have interconnected alarms that are wired into their electrical system. Trademarked Hush Feature for Convenience By pressing the Hush button, you can easily and safely silence nuisance alarms caused by non-emergency situations, such as overcooked dinners. This feature desensitizes the alarm for approximately ten minutes. The BRK hardwire combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarm detects two hazards with one simple unit. Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless, deadly gas. It can be emitted by sources including gas or oil furnaces, gas clothes dryers, water heaters, fireplaces, wood stoves, charcoal grills, gas ranges, and space heaters. A clogged chimney, improper venting, and attached garages can also cause carbon monoxide accumulation. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), at least one CO alarm should be installed near a home's sleeping area. The BRK SC9120 hardwire combination smoke and CO alarm with battery backup includes these features: Quick plug-in power connector for easy installation. 120-volt AC inter-connectable (with maximum 18 compatible devices). The alarm can be interconnected with up to 12 other compatible smoke alarms and six compatible devices like bells, horns, repeaters and door closers. Online Backup Solutions
What if a fire, flood, theft or any other disaster would destroy your lifetime work, your very important data base, all of your information? You must have some onsite backup solution, but what you really need is an online backup service that will help insure that the critical information is always available and secure.
We are living in times where data of any kind are at stake. Internet trespassing and theft has become an issue that endangers every site, with no importance to what it may contain. Although it may seem as having no importance it has been demonstrated that the so called hackers have made terrible disasters, to many business industries by braking into the most guarded data bases.
New recovery software has been developed, producing remarkable changes in the way business work. One of these would be Online Server Backup, which eliminates typical backup headaches. The ability to automate your backup and remove the data off-site to a secure backup with a click mouse button is now a reality. Initially it may seem expensive, but at a closer look, it is understandable since online backup technology utilizes a company’s existing telecom lines Online backup server eliminates all these traditional cost factors.
Nowadays everything goes around the clock. Technology at a maximum speed evolution offers the solution for a maximum speed efficiency of work. Nothing can be done without having a computer and most of all without having constantly connection and access to internet provider. The latter offers a great deal of information and online programs which help you to be constantly on track with your work, in the event of problems or if you simply desire improvement. One of these online services, that provide you assistance and help, is the Online Backup Services.
Online Server Backup is using software that automates the uploading of selected files to a remote computer and it has the ability to restore files, using internet. Many providers offer a free trial period so that you can determine whether you buy it or not. The online service provider supplies you with software that has to be installed on the Pc or server you wish to backup.
The software allows you to select the files to backup and set up a backup schedule. Afterwards, your data will be normally encrypted to secure it from eventual trespassers, compressed to speed up transfer and reduce the amount of storage space required, and uploaded to the server at the service provider’s data center.
In case you wish to use online backup service, you have to know that the first time you will use online backup, it will take a long time. Of course, there is no exact time, because this depends on the amount of data you want to backup. Generally it is a matter of several hours, but it may also be a matter of days, before the software finishes backing up your selected data, because it has to not only storage your data, but also encrypt, compress and copy it onto the remote server.
Data problem has become a critical component in an organization’s disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Data is not only the foundation of business but remains a vital irreplaceable strategic asset. Faced with increasingly failed strategies of recovering lost data, disaster planning professional have no other alternative but look for new recovery solutions.

How do you backup your operating system?
I just purchased a new computer system at Circuit City, but it didn't come with any restore disks. It does have a DVD-RW drive and a media card reader. So how do I backup Windows Vista? I haven' even opened the box yet.
Read the instructions, Quite often there is a hidden partition on it with a complete factory restore image. It should give either instructions for that or how to create restore discs. Every manufacturer has thier own method.
