Gaming
Playing videogames has become a culture in itself. Video games make use of animated characters. These games are the result of great imagination, creativity and the graphic expertise. People all over the world have great penchant for these animated games. They are popular to the extent that a new branch of study has evolved to create them.
Gaming is not a new concept. It has been around since 1958 and has grown leaps and bounds. It is not only graphics; there is great improvement in the gaming concepts also. These developments are the result of expectations of the gamers to experience new and more thrilling games. You can see this form of digital entertainment everywhere at arcades, computers or our homes.
Gaming was an old concept and is as old as the history. Earlier, there were many board games which used to be the source of entertainment. Later computers came to the scene and brought along with electronic games. Computers in those early days were like monsters, used up the entire room. They were also slow and error-prone. Still, in those days too, few electronic games were device such as tic-tac-toe. However, after WWII, computers were not used only in cutting-edge laboratories; they became part of many university curriculums. At that time, many university students took up the challenge to create high quality and sophisticated computer games. They transformed their fantasy and sci-fi imaginations into the digital adventures.
In early 1950s, it was Ralph Bauer, who invented the idea of playing an electronic game to the television. IN 1972, Magnavox Odyssey was released by the TV Company Magnavox. It was the refined version of the Ralph’s Brown Box. Though this game looked very primitive on TV but still it was a great achievement.
Then, the highly popular home console system, Atari 2600, came into picture in 1977. It had a game called Space Invaders which made it one of the greatest successes in the gaming world. It made use of different types of cartridges to play different games. After a crash of the gaming industry in 1983, it took off again and never looked down.
Graphics and the gaming device make a wide difference in the quality and the enjoyment of the game. For instance, playing tennis at Atari 2600 is quite different from playing the same game on the Play station 2.
Games are getting sophisticated day by day. There is a shrinking gap between the electronic reality and the real world. You have games involving real world sports like cricket, baseball, golf and more. There are games which incorporate the political and social factors. Action games have always been popular among gamers for their sound and graphics effects to stimulate the gamers’ imaginations. Future of gaming industry is very bright.

Does anyone know video game history?
I need to know how much it cost Atari to produce game cartridges for the 2600.
Proof of said knowledge would also be helpful. Such as a link to a source.
