The R4 Ds Card Brings The Classic Lemmings To Your Nintendo Ds
The popularity of homebrew gaming has been about for a long time on different systems, but exploded with the release of the R4 DS Card for the NDS. Many of these games are re-makes of historic classic games. The impressive thing is, they are put out by homebrew / recreational programmers and are accessible to you with just a flick of your mouse and for free from the internet. All you'll need is your Nintendo DS or DSi and your R4 Card ready and waiting to download and make them available so you can relish them absolutely free.
One of my favorite R4 Card games is the very popular Lemmings DS. Made by an R4 DS Card owner and amateur computer programmer. The quality of this game is easily at par with numerous commerically released games for the DS and DSi. It's this that makes it really extraordinary. It's due to games like these that these homebrew games are of such soaring quality that individuals are flocking to the R4 Card and taking advantage of what it has to offer in terms of homebrew gaming and also, developing your own Nintendo DS homebrew games.
Lemmings originally was brought out as a computer game. The initial system to have it was the Amiga 500 and later the c64 system. Truly one of the best old school classic mind bender game to be brought out to gamers of the time. So popular in fact that it was also brought out for the Super Nintendo too. And with a gigantic shout out to dedictated game designers, you can relive the good old game days immediately on Nintendo DS or DSi with an R4 Card.
In Lemmings, your chore in every last level is to lead your Lemmings to the exit with the least amount of casualties by accommodating them from their cave or cavern and bringing them to the exit. This is done by means of digging, blowing things up, climbing, and building walkways or bridges. There are a number of instruments and bombs at your mercy, and in some exceedingly unusual instances, you may have to sacrifice a Lemming or two as you try to drudge or climb your way to the exit on the screen.
Each level begins increasingly harder, with more Lemmings having to be saved in order to complete a certain level. While several of the Lemmings are expendable, most of your Lemmings have to make it out safely - and conscious, in order for you to advance to the succeeding level, which then gets tougher to finish.
It's a fun and funny game. With the antics of the Lemmings - all of them that you put them up to - having you wonder at the funny things going on. The game is a mix between puzzle game - action game, and strategy game, because you have to plan exactly how you'll get past the roadblocks to get your lemmings to the exit - and keep plenty of them alive and well to ensure that you advance to the following level.
The R4 Card edition of Lemmings for the DS carries each of the original levels from the very first installment of the game, as well as the levels from Christmas Lemmings and Oh NO! More Lemmings also. Thanks to the R4 Card you can get all of these levels in one easy to play game.

Amiga? You'll be lucky. Owning two Amigas myself, I know the pains of trying to get games for them.
I'm afraid I can only leave you a recommendation of eBay, and downloading such games off of www.abandonia.com (yes, it's legal, don't worry. Some of the games may not be on there) or www.aminet.net (to search on here, use keywords.).
Sorry I couldn't be a greater help.
If history repeats itself, Microsoft will dominate mobile platforms
TechRepublic member dcolbert likens today's mobile contenders with desktop PCs from 20 years ago. If history repeats itself, he believes the Android will be phased out and Windows Mobile will rise to the top. Do you agree?
Thanks for visiting!
