To extend the life of your iPod and keep it in good working condition you must find ways to care for it. Here are 10 simple tips for caring for your priced gadget.
- Your iPod is a delicate music player so be careful you do not drop it. If dropped it will be scratched or worst the screen could be broken. To avoid scratching, use the included cover whenever possible.
- Clean your iPod using a damp cloth and avoiding getting moisture in openings.
- Operate your iPod in a place where the temperature is always between 0º and 35º C (32º to 95º F). Your iPod play time might temporarily shorten in low-temperature conditions.
- Store your iPod in a place where the temperature is always between -20º and 45º C (-4º to 113º F). Don't leave your iPod in your car, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range.
- Keep your iPod at room temperature all the time.
- Do not charge while it is in the carry case.
- Do not leave your iPod exposed in direct sunlight.
- Charge your iPod every 14 to 18 days when not in use. Even when your iPod is off it is in a sleeping state that requires power.
- If your iPod displays a low battery icon, connect it to the Apple iPod Power Adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet. You may also be able to charge it by connecting it to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on, and it's not set to go to sleep.
- You should charge your iPod when it has fully discharged even if you're not going to use right away.

How to choose an Toshiba PA3467U-1ACA adapter
How to choose an Toshiba PA3467U-1ACA adapter.
Before purchasing Toshiba PA3467U-1ACA AC Adapters you need to make sure make the PA3467U-1ACA AC Toshiba Adapters will give you the correct voltage and suitable current output. To find out the voltage & current, turn your laptop over and look for a label, sticker or writing which shows the voltage and current, it should look something like the examples below.
The voltage figure will have a "V" after the number i.e 19V and the current will have a "A" or "mA". i.e 3.15A. You can also find these shown on your original Toshiba AC Adapter PA3467U-1ACA if you have it. The Voltage must be within 10% of your original Toshiba PA3467U-1ACA s Voltage. The Amps may be higher but they cannot by lower.
If you are purchasing a universal PA3467U-1ACA AC Adapter or Car Charger you will need to work out the Watts of your original Toshiba PA3467U-1ACA Adapter and select the universal Toshiba PA3467U-1ACA AC Adapter or Car Charger with the same Watts or next highest Wattage.
You can work out the Wattage by multiplying the Voltage by the Amps i.e 20V X 3A = 60 Watts. There is no 60 Watt Toshiba PA3467U-1ACA AC Adapters so you will need to select the next step up which is the 70 Watt Toshiba PA3467U-1ACA AC Adapter. It is possible to substitute a regulated adapter for an unregulated one (the downside being added cost), but it is not advisable to substitute an unregulated adapter in place of a regulated adapter as this could cause the electronic device being powered to fail.
Determine the size of the Toshiba PA3467U-1ACA adapter plug. Plug sizes are normally measured in millimeters.
If the plug size is the only thing wrong with an Toshiba PA3467U-1ACA adapter, meaning that its voltage and current ratings, whether it is regulated or unregulated, and its polarity all match, it is possible to splice a new plug onto the adapter, as many electronics stores do sell just the plug in different sizes. However, care must be taken to ensure that the new plug maintains the same polarity as the old one, meaning that the wire that connected to the outside surface of the old plug still connects to the outside of the new plug, and that the wire that connected to the inside surface of the old plug still connects to the inside surface of the new plug.
Determine the desired output specifications of the Toshiba PA3467U-1ACA adapter. This can usually be found on the old adapter, the electronic device, or the instruction manual of the electronic device. There are two components to this: the voltage, measured in volts, and the current, usually measured in milliamps (ma). When selecting an adapter, you will want to match these as closely as possible.
If an exact match is not available, it is better to err on the side of the new Toshiba PA3467U-1ACA adapter having a lower voltage and higher current than the specifications require. For example, if the device calls for 6 volts at 500 ma, it is preferable for the new adapter to provide 5 volts at 600 ma (lower voltage, higher current) than it would be for the new adapter to provide 9 volts at 333 ma (higher voltage, lower current), as the excess voltage could damage the electronic device.

Anyone use a plug adapter with their Sonicare toothbrush?
I will be traveling to Southeast Asia, specifically Thailand, and I want to bring my Sonicare, but I will need to plug it in. Can I use a plug adapter with it? Also, if anyone has done so, what kind of adapter did you buy? Thanks for any info!
I'm from the US.
Check your Sonicare and see if it will operate on 110 - 220/240 voltage. If it only says okay for 110 volts you will probably fry it in your hotel room.
You can buy a voltage converter but many of them are around the same price that a new Sonicare would cost and they are a little bulky. A voltage converter changes the 220 to 110 volts.

Some hotels may have an outlet that says 110 volts, usually not in the cheaper hotels though. Then you have to trust that the voltage is really 110 when you first plug the Sonicare in.
When you check your cell phone plug charger the little charger will probably say 110-240 volts, if your Sonicare says the same thing then it will work in Thailand. A plug adapter to change the bladed plug to a pin plug is less than a dollar if you actually need it because many wall outlets take both the pin and bladed type plugs.
Good luck.
